Dropbox Paper Brief - Depression Campaign
Some quick, rough idea generation, for which have been inspired by looking into some depression stories, facts and information as well as some previous depression campaign. Nothing set into stone, just some rough brainstorms. I still need to refine my wordplay/words, meaning what words will I use in my campaign that will create awareness within the society. Refining my word choices/phrase/statement.
In my first scan, I was reflecting back to my old video for which I produced last year and see if I could possibly develop it even further to what it is now. Thinking of other ways to project or show this idea in much more depth and more advanced, like the idea that I had in mind was like a social experiment, where I would have a series of words cut out in a stencil so if I were to shine a light on this stencil word cut out you would see the projected word; so just imagine having this stencil cut out and a torch being shined in random people faces and capturing their reaction. This would be a good experiment, seeing people react getting words shined in there face and then later realising what the whole idea behind it is. Shock tactic advertisement.
But then thought I would like to have a fresh start and not got over old things again, creating something new and fresh and something which is a bit more contextual and meaningful. Because when looking back at the video although it may look good an has a good message and meaning behind it, it isn't vividly strong enough, like you get the message but it isn't as contextual as like other depression campaign adverts which you see, it isn't contextual, or powerful enough to hit and make you actually ponder and think about the video and most importantly it doesn't have that shock tactic.
In my second scan, I was considering and playing more with words, seeing how and what I could do to make people social aware of this campaign. I want people to engage with this campaign make people connect and feel sympathy, a campaign where individuals suffering from depression shouldn't be afraid to speak up and speak out of their issue or problems, making them feel comfortable about themselves and confining in themselves. Thinking of many words I could possibly think of to relate to back to advertising such as Instagram - video - hashtag - society. other ideas were like distorting the face of an individual or like covering and masking the entire face of a model with either illustrations, designs or type in which these illustrations, designs, type/mediums are a reflection of what the individual is truly feeling - expressing emotions and language through art and animation.
In my second scan I am also analysing and noting depression triggers, is there a certain thing or trauma or something which triggers an individual to get into a depressive state.
There are so many things to depression, it is such a huge cause and with so many depressive states it is quite difficult to analyse and look into it all so I have narrow does my objective with this campaign.
