Would Winx and WI.T.C.H. villains get along? Part I
I've been wondering this since a mutual of mine from the WITCH fandom is quite active again recently and posts a lot about our blorbo Phobos.
If the two franchises were mixed together, how would the villains interact? Or would they even?
A pair that I could totally imagine would be
Darcy and Cedric
Both masters of disguise and manipulation. Even though at first Darcy cared for Riven, she clearly manipulated him to act against the other specialists and spy on them, losing connection to them so that in the end he was totally isolated. And unless we look at the 4kids dub (which we don't) Darcy doesn't brainwash Riven in canon, she formed a mental link. The manipulation was done without magic, simple mind games if you will. She pretended that she was the only one who really understands him. That she would be the one who saw and supports his potential. The only one who really cared for him and who didn't want him to change (looking at you, Musa).
Now Cedric did almost the same to Elyon with the only difference that it wasn't disguised as a romance (I don't look at the comics, I look at the show only). He became a mentor and friend to Elyon who alienated her from her friends, making her suspicious of them. Made her feel lost and isolated, so that he could easily convince her to accompany him to Meridian to meet her real family, or what's left of it: her brother, after showing her that she was adopted and that her adoptive parents weren't even human, who lied to her all her life. Like Riven, Elyon sees her former friends and family as enemies, which is maybe a bit more drastic than Riven's case. Because the bond of the specialists wasn't that deep at the beginning but Elyon and for example Cornelia did know each other all their lives as Cornelia stated in 1x12 The princess revealed. And turning your back at your parents is a very radical move even though it was later in the show shown that Elly still cared for them and wanted them to be safe. (Which she believed after another great illusion.)
But like Darcy, Cedric didn't use magic to convince Elyon and gain her trust. Again we have simple mind games. Both know incredibly well how to handle words, seeing weaknesses and how to benefit from them.
So long story short, I think they would get along well or would completely mistrust each other. But I can see them working together since their methods are pretty much the same. An interesting dynamic indeed.
I'll think about the others too. And post about them eventually too. Yayyy Leni is active again! <3
