“I said I’d do anything for this peace. I meant it.” He dares to take a step closer to the throne and the starlit deity resting upon it in his nest of furs.

HD sits up straighter in his throne, lips pressed together as he thinks. “Just how desperate are you? Anything? Anything means anything, and that’s a dangerous offer to make.”

XD chokes on the shattered remains of his pride and throws himself to the mercy of HD. “You’ve made me very desperate.”
