A stack of boxes, to someā¦ Years of hard work and a long overdue gift to myself and my well-being to me! These, my Friends, are my DW Collectorās Series 5-pc drums and my DW Collectorās Series snare drumāplus hardware, etc. When I left Nashville, I sold my kit because I didnāt know if Iād do well in LA and we might have had to live in a small space (LA is āspensive, Brah!) But I swore that one day if I could do it, Iād get myself a DW Collectorās kit because I always thought they were just incredible looking and sounding and were just the most awesome drums Iād ever seen/heard! Keep in mind, I have played drums since I was four years old and I was a legitimate professional at one timeāon a major label tour and the whole nine yards, studio sessions, bar bands and so forth. I did the whole thing. But, chasing the āmusic dreamā broke me. I lost the JOY of it. I thought itād never come back. But, weirdly, being a voice actor allowed me to make money doing something that was more āMeā and allowed me to step away from music and then find it again, if that makes sense? My father was a hugely successful professional musician and I chased his dream thinking it was my own; when in reality, it wasnāt my pathānot professionally, anyway. But drums? Those were mine. And I had a great love of playing them that was lost. I hope this gift of a beautiful set that Iāve wanted for my entire adult life will help me fully enjoy just making music for the fun of it againāhow I used to feel all my young life! š I always read about and hear people talking about living their best life and making time for mental health and wellbeing but I just worked almost never taking time for my own health. Itās a large gift and thereās always the fear of putting it out there that people will say something rude or begrudge me thisābut I can assure you, I worked all my life for this day and I am happy and proud (though nervous) to share. But, I also wanted to have this pop up in future timelines so I can relive this moment in the futureāso thank you for sharing this with me!
