ποΈ Character Design Throwback: Before Fundamentals, Before Growth
Sharing Some designs of the main hero I created during (and just after) the last animation I ever made.
Truthfully, not much changed in the design back then, and thatβs because I hadnβt yet learned the basics: perspective, anatomy, or even how to build a character from the ground up.
I still Haven't.
That lack of foundation meant I could see where I wanted to go, but I didnβt have the tools to actually get there.
Oddly enough, thatβs not discouraging. Itβs motivating.
It reminds me why the fundamentals matter so much. Thatβs why Iβve committed to starting over, learning properly, building skills slowly, and eventually revisiting this character with fresh eyes and a stronger base.
This isnβt just about one design. Itβs about understanding where I am on the journey, being honest about my gaps, and trusting that with time, things will grow.
Art is never a straight line. It curves, breaks, rebuilds.
This heroβs story isnβt over. Itβs just waiting for the next chapter. β¨
Thanks for following along and for being part of the process.
