A rough cut gif/fly-through of my big, recent wip/drawing exercise book project. Iâd started this back in 2008/10(?)ish when my dearest friend @shuuuuuuuuut_ gave me this abfab leather bound moleskine that I felt sort of intimidated to draw in⌠so I set some rules in an attempt to make a thing of it & get over myself, mb change some habits (namely not finishing things & also tearing out/crumpling a good 70% of my sketchbooks with my whole straight to pen&ink trip at the time)⌠so I had to just draw & finish whatever I started whether I thought it was âgoing somewhereâ or not, if I made a mistake or wasnât in love w/ it⌠Iâd just persist. That was the idea anyway. Some kinda slow-burn, take it on when youâre feeling it/maybe itâll shake things up for myself in some way project. So, itâs a spooling outâŚstream of consciousness just straight-up Blort! for the first 20 or so pages, gets into environments/crowds, then kinda skids into a zoom/flipbook type of experience. I remember (& this is typical) flying through a lot of it initially, getting lost, finding my way back, got really excited & went deep, then got REALLY lost & hung up for a bit (like several years)⌠basically a rollercoaster. Decided after awhile Iâd unlock from the need to execute it physically (what itâd become anyway) & look at what could be done digitally to pick up the reigns again/look at the big picture of how to share what Iâd made. So, soon to come⌠what was my precious/object dâart 5.5x3.5â back-of-my-mind-project for over 10 years⌠will soon be an 11x7â softcover coffee table/flipbook! Was hoping Iâd have this sorted for MoCCA this year but presently taking some time on design & printing. Stay tuned!
