Oh no, I didnât know he was going blind, poor little guy. I suspect my Nefertitiâs vision isnât too good. She seems to lose track of fishing pole toys really easily. She can track motion, though, so I think itâs more that sheâs nearsighted.
I wonder if being able to track motion despite bad vision is a predator thing. Nefertiti does sound like Tux that way. Â If the toy gets maybe 3ft away from him, he loses track.
I first noticed Tux was a little âoffâ a few months after I adopted him. He was playing with Kit and ran full-on into the side of a cabinet, hard enough to make himself woozy for like a minute. He just had this tendency to crash into completely stationary objects. He hasnât hit his head that hard since then, but I always feel so bad whenever I hear the scrambling of little ferret toenails followed by a âthunk.â He also crashes into ME all the frickin time and trips me pretty much every day by running under/in front of my feet when he sees me walking. He even crashes into the other ferrets, and theyâre like âwtf, dude.â XD
