Queen Celestia

Description :
Beloved regent of Equestria and Twilight Sparkle's mentor, Celestia is a thoughtful and caring queen with her people, who almost see her as a kind of benevolent deity. Behind her majestic ruler mask hides a playful and sometimes slightly teasing pony.
She and her little sister arrived in the lands of Equestria when she was still very young. Perhaps it was destiny that had led them to these lands? Starswirl the Bearded took them as disciples, teaching them many things before one day mysteriously disappearing. After her confrontation with Luna, who had become Nightmare Moon, she left their castle in the Everfree Forest, the place being filled with too many memories with her younger sister, and had a new palace built on the edge of a mountain that would later develop, as ponies came to settle down to work at the castle, to become the Canterlot of today.
Queen Luna

Description :
Celestia's younger sister, she was banished to the Moon for a thousand years after becoming the evil Nightmare Moon, but thanks to Twilight and her friends the darkness that had invaded her heart was dispelled and Luna was able to become herself again. After her return, she will do her best to make up for her mistakes, although it will take her a long time to accept the forgiveness that has been offered to her.
She is in charge of the Dream World and revered by its inhabitants the Oniri, as well as by the Batponies living in Luna Bay who have unfailing adoration for her.
Princess/Empress Cadance

Description :
Queen Celestia's adopted niece, Cadance is a gentle and caring mare. Born as a pegasus, she has no memory of her biological parents, who abandoned her when she was still a baby pony. When she obtains her CutieMark, it becomes clear to Celestia that Cadance has an unknown connection to Empress Amore, who once ruled the Crystal Empire. The regent of Equestria takes her under her wing, foreseeing the great future that awaits her.
She later became Twilight's foalsitter when she was 8 years old, then her sister-in-law by marrying her older brother Shining Armor. Together, they had two daughters: Flurry Heart, the heir to the throne of the Crystal Empire, and CrystalShield, her younger sister.
Captain/Emperor Shining Armor
Age at start of series : 28 Years Old
Description :
Older brother of Twilight Sparkle, he has always admired the Royal Guard, dreaming of joining it since he was a very young foal, his dream will eventually come true and after many efforts, he will end up being promoted to the rank of captain of it.
He is very close to his little sister, as well as to Spike, whom he considers his little brother. The three have a very close relationship, although they see each other less often than when Twilight was a filly. Shortly after his marriage to Princess Cadance, the two were sent to the far north following the return of the Crystal Empire, of which he became its Emperor, as he is the Empress's husband.
(Imperial) Princess Flurry Heart

The firstborn of Cadance and Shining Armor and heir to the throne of the Crystal Empire, FlurryHeart is a princess adored by her people. She was very mischievous as a child, but she mellowed over time, wanting to be a role model for her little sister.
She seems to have a special connection to the Crystal Heart even more than any other inhabitant of the empire. Very close to her royal crystaller and mentor, Sunburst, she will often go to him for advice or simply to chat, considering him almost as her uncle even though they are not related.
(Imperial) Princess Crystal Shield

Description :
Second daughter of Cadance and Shining Armor, she greatly admires her big sister, but even more her father, dreaming of following in his hoofsteps and one day leading the Imperial Guard to support her eldest when she ascends to the throne.
Her parents aren't really sure they want to let her join the guard, though, afraid she'll get hurt or, worse, be targeted by the enemy due to her status as a Princess. But that doesn't stop her from pursuing her dream, even if it means training in secret, causing a lot of trouble for her best friend who's supposed to be watching over her.
Queen HopeDiamond
Age at start of series : ± 100 Years Old
Description :
A direct descendant of the first DragonPonies Monarch, she watches over an immense magic crystal, located in the heart of her palace, called the Jewel of Life, which protects their underground city from invaders.
She has the good of her people at heart, always making it her priority, but because of this, she can sometimes be a bit "stifling" in the eyes of her only daughter. She raised her alone from a young age, her husband, the former king, having succumbed to an illness.

Description :
A free-spirited princess of the DragonPonies with a great curiosity for the outside world, she dreams of going on an adventure and exploring the wide world, but her mother doesn't see this very favorably, constantly reminding her that her place, as a princess, is with her people. She often ventures secretly outside the city to explore the surroundings, accompanied by her childhood friend and son of her tutor, not so much because he has a taste for adventure as pronounced as her but because he worries about her. And wouldn't want her to get into trouble.
