The way they work is that they are not like game bosses that you have to defeat or a team of supervillains or anything. they like vampires, is that they work best when you dont know what youre dealing with. they show up in your life as strangers, devil on the crossroads style, and are just bad influences in your life

Lust: incredibly sexy and sultry person. gender ambiguous, they are wearing the fetish gear/tools of the person they are interacting with.

Gluttony: Food delivery guy who follows you around in their bike. their backpack always smells delicious, they always have the meal/snack/dessert that you like most and are always insiting you try just one more bite

Rage: Just an incredibly pedantic, loud, aggravating asshole. Always saying the most offensive thing they can think of, always correcting you, always wrong in the most thick headed way possible. an expert rage baiter.

Envy: a reflection of you but better. they look just like you but a bit taller, more succesful, more attractive. they can do the things you do better. they are better at doing your hobbies, better at doing your job, they seem to have more money, and whenever they talk to your friends they seem to lile him better.

Sloth: your pothead friend. relax man, chill. you dont have to hurry dude. late for work? well youre already late, a few more minutes wont make much of a difference. look, the new game you wanted to play is out, i already ordered some snacks, you were supposed to meet with friends? its too cold to go outside, lets just watch a movie dude.

Pride: a sicophantic personal trainer

Under capitalism (but in the past, like, in the early 20th and late 19th century), people made clothes out of potato sacks. Potato companies had special decorated sacks so their consumers could use the fabric! This wasn't because they were more virtuous about reuse then, it was because a substantial chunk of people were incredibly poor, and couldn't afford clothes, and clothing-quality sacks were a powerful business practice.

It is recently (like the past century) that people have become rich enough to afford to buy clothes, and suddenly people had the money to not have to reuse potato sack fabric, and additional free time that they could spend doing things that aren't making clothes.

This is why I think ecosocialism is fundamentally broken, at least in the way it's talked about by proponents, because one of the core assumptions in it is that capitalism is the thing causing waste to exist, rather than waste existing as a side-effect of prosperity because the opportunity cost of avoiding waste goes up as inputs become cheaper. As long as prosperity exists, waste will be high.

Like, it wouldn't be a good time of course and it would be the deadliest war in history, most likely, there'd probably be a couple years of famine, but large parts of the world would probably be fine and still industrialized, It's not like someone is going to say "well we have some missiles left over, let's aim them at Nigeria or Brazil for fun!"
