Truly I feel your in my core. âHigh functioningâ is a lie and we all need help in our own ways, being high functioning and ânot as badâ as other autistic people is something my mother throws around a lot like sheâs proud Iâm âonly slightly damaged goodsâ compared to other peopleâs kids. Iâm sorry youâre also going through this with no real direction or ways to look for help without being accused of making too big a deal out of this. Weâve never really spoken but youâre not alone if that helps?

I really relate to this. I was diagnosed as a child but everything done about it was kept secret from me until I figured it out on my own. I donât know how you feel about dogs, but one of the things Iâve done to help as an autistic /adult/ is get on a waiting list for a service dog. maybe itâll help you? if not thank you for sharing this, hang in there.
unfortunately not the biggest fan of dogs. and if i was, dad wonât let me or my siblings get a dog anyway. tho i do have a cat whos very attuned to me which helps a lot!
i have a lot of shitty thoughts but things ARE slowly getting better. iâve applied for social security for example!! things are creeping along. slowly. its coming along. im just big aaaa
