Memories were traitorous things, especially the memories of old loves. Sometimes they came as a warm and gentle breeze, the flash of striking blue eyes, the echo of a laugh, the ghosts of kisses and soft hands. But sometimes, they pierced and twisted deep and painful as a knife, as the bitterness of loss, as the cold from harsh words and empty beds, as the desperation and impotence of seeing the one that made you happy be happy with someone else.

Magnus’ hands moved, no doubt to start the summoning spell, and in a desperate reflex Will grabbed at his arm, stilling his movements and making Magnus look back at him confused.

“Will, what’s wrong?”

He took a shaky breath, steadying himself. “It’s just… I’ll only have one shot. If I can’t convince the demon to lift my curse, all of this would have been for nothing, I-”

“Will…” Magnus’ eyes were focused, anchoring him, his voice gentle. “I am here, and I will not allow this demon to toy with you any longer. Trust me,” he asked.

It was way past midnight and Will was out, walking around London in one of his pretend nights of drinking. He wasn’t expecting to be troubled by anyone, much less for a fire message to appear in front of his face amidst blue fire.

Dying of boredom and I reckon it’s your duty as a Shadowhunter to save me from a dreadful fate. Please come at once – M.B.

Holidays were nothing special to the Chosen. They were dull ceremonies that he was forced to attend. Nothing was ever enjoyable about them, especially to the one who was treated more like decoration than an actual person.

But this year, it would be different.

"Hey, Zelos!" "Sorry, we're a bit late!" "I can't believe that idiot made me wear this!" "It could be worse, you know." "Celebration time." "I really hope he's prepared for us..." "I'm certain he knows of our arrival, why else would he invite us?"

The moment her eyes had come across this gift, they had gone straight to the written note left upon it. She had glanced over the untidy wrapping, but noted the various attempts at taping the paper together to hide what was underneath.

She had to give her brother credit for trying, it was his first time giving her a present. And wrapping presents was something he had not practiced with.

Notes - Since Will and Camille met at Pandemonium, I imagine that’s where he and Magnus would have met as well.

Magnus remembered looking up from his cards and spotting the lone figure walking through the saloon. One of the silly mundanes that often lost their souls for the club, it seemed, except...

There was something wrong with his eyes, and it wasn't just their striking deep blue colour that made Magnus take in a breath. He didn't seem marveled or broken, he looked upon everything as if the darkness around was nothing compared to the disgrace he carried inside. He was a beautiful decadence and Magnus wanted to be ruined.

The door is shut with a loud reverberating sound. He mentally tells himself to be careful next time. His steps are silent, moving forward and deeper into the garage.

In the center is a lone motorcycle. Shiny, spotless, well taken care of, the finest and fastest model to this day.

When was the last time he had taken this out for a ride? While he had kept it in shape for his brother, he hadn't actually used it since the accident.

A photo album was the last thing the security guard expected to find amongst the many items of the lost and found bin. It wasn't even new, but one that was old, tattered, falling apart.

His first thought was to find the owner. If it had been placed here, than it needed to get back to whoever had lost this sentimental scrapbook.

It belonged to a family.
