First the fake out with Daniel, now Janet? I'm telling you, writers, when I catch you it's on sight. 🤬😤🥊👊🏾💢💫🫯💥🖕🏾😠👿

Not gonna lie though, S7E17: Heroes Pt 1 & S7E18: Heroes Pt 2 are some of the best written and well done episodes of the show so far. Reeeally wish we had more time with the docu crew— especially Emmett. I know he seemed a bit annoying at times but his monologue in the hall was a masterpiece. Pure Cinema All Around, Truly. 🤌🏾💯🥺

The Stocking Stuffer Series - Janet + Sam

What Sam means to Janet:

A bright spot in her day. Despite women being a part of the United States Air Force since the second World War, the SGC is, to put it bluntly, a sausage fest. It doesn’t help that everyone stationed was hand picked by the top brass, and thus having an overblown sense of self importance. Janet had never felt more like a den mother than when attempting to juggle the egos of her head nurse, chief surgeon, and that of SG’s 4 and 8. It was a part of being an administrator that Janet could well do without. But not Sam. Sam is smart, or course, and incredibly motivated; she would have been on the Abydos team, if she hadn’t been getting her appendix out. More than that she’s… Well… Bright. Not just clever, but cheerful and kind. Lighting up any room she goes into. Janet isn’t too ashamed to say that she looks forward the little respite she gets when Sam drops by her office for a visit.

What Janet means to Sam:

A safe landing. Sam’s job is dangerous. She loves it, don’t get her wrong, but being on the front lines of exploration generally means being the first one to get shot at, or stabbed, or kidnapped, or kidnapped and cloned, or… Well, you get the picture. Sam can’t tell you how many times she’s woken up some place strange, aching and disoriented. Bad times typically involve waking up on a cold metal floor with the taste of blood in her mouth. On the good days, she wakes up to the sound of Janet’s voice and the smell of disinfectant, and Sam knows she’s safe. “Captain Carter, you were injured on your mission but you’re back at the SGC. Lie still, you and your team are safe.” Janet doesn’t go through the ‘gate often, there are SG teams to handle medical affairs Off-Base, and Sam is selfishly grateful. It’s so much easier to take that final step knowing she can fall back into safe hands.

Their Thing(tm):

Thursday night dinners and puzzle nights with Cassandra. Unless someone is dying or the world is actively ending, Thursday nights are family nights at the Fraser house. They order pizza and play board games or work on puzzles together, and sometimes they watch movies. Sam might not have been able to raise Cassie with the dangers of her job and the odd hours she works, but Sam never stopped loving the little girl that should have been their downfall. Janet understands that, and makes it a point to have Sam present in Cassie’s life. Whether it means sharing school pick-ups and co-coordinating soccer practice, or roping the least artist person Janet has ever met to help with school art shows, and especially giving an open invitation to family night. Sam makes an effort to attend events whenever she’s on planet and she’s allowed off base, but she rarely misses a family night. Well, maybe family and friends night is more accurate. The rest of SG1 also try to make it, SG teams do tend to travel in packs, but their individual attendance is generally hit or miss.
