Loooved the return of Vala— she quickly rose to be one of my favorite characters. And I really enjoyed her dynamic with Daniel. Not gonna lie, it was refreshing to see a male character so blatantly uninterested in a woman like her (at least until the end.) In a show like today, he would have been all over her in a heart beat but I'm happy writers stayed true to his character until the end. (Then again, the argument scene in S10E20 was a tad bit harsh in my opinion. Can't help but feel like the writers when a little overkill with his whole 'you're not my type/we will never be' thing... I kinda wish they had the argument then a little time passed before he apologized THEN they get together but hey— we can't win em all, I guess.) I also liked Vala's sexual posturing. It was clearly a defense mechanism but they didn't go too over the top like most shows tend to do. They gave Vala heart and a personality outside of her looks and I appreciated that.

Oh, and I also loved the whole Merlin/Arthurian Legend theme they had going on. (Tbh it made me want to rewatch BBC's Merlin again but I digress.) It was a really nice touch and well written...

One thing I did think went off the rails toward the end was the whole Ori thing. Don't get me wrong, the original concept of the Ori in the beginning was STRONNG. Like seriously, I loved the idea of the Ori being a separate sect of the Ascended who went 'rouge'. It really made me realize how 'our ascended' were delightful compared to them— but make no mistake I'm not singing the praises of the Others anytime soon, just staring facts. The thing that threw me for a loop was the whole corporeal miraculous Virgin Mary Ori pregnancy... THAT was a little wacky. I feel like it was sort of a last ditch effort in the writers room to make something stick. You could tell they were grasping at straws towards the last few seasons but who cares, it was a great show.

The finale was good, like really good. I enjoyed the time dilation, Teal'C being the one to have to return with al the memories and the crew walking off into the Stargate one last time. Sure there were a few unanswered questions for me, but I enjoyed it....

I'm telling you, whole time I'm sitting here like, why can Oma bend the rules but Daniel can't? Come to find out she did and the Others got her ass together, child! Punishing her by making her watch Anubis destroy galazies like a kid with permanent marker. 😆 To be honest, I feel that. It's her mess, so she needs to clean it up. But hey, I guess she didn't learn to much, because she's still sneak helping people anyway. (She gone learn one day...)

By the way, since this is a safe spac— and I have no one else to talk to about this with, I'm just gonna say it:

A part of me doesn't believe the Others are real..

Like, knowing what I know about how Anubis ascended and descended, I feel like if Daniel really would've tried to smite the hell out of Anubis, the others wouldn't have done anything. I understand that prior to gaining powers from Ascension, Daniel wouldn't have been able to zap Anubis out of existance— HOWEVER, I do feel like he very much so could have kicked his ass through and through (with the help of SG1 of course.) So I don't think it's that far of a reach to say they wouldn't have revoked his ascension and tossed that man back down on solid ground naked as a jay bird, meanwhile Oma did. And sure I get it, Oma's protecting Daniel from himself, but idk... I'm still a little leery about her and the Others. Until they show themselves, Im sceptical.

Oh, and also, Anubis is messy girl! Pretending to be a Regular Joe Schmoe that Oma helped ascend all while "helping" Daniel along is CRAZY WORK.
