Jealousy, Jealousy (Charlie Dalton/fem!Reader)
MASTER LIST
You and Charlie weren't dating, not at all. You just had a slight crush on him since the first day you set eyes on him. He's tall, handsome, funny and sometimes smart.
It wasn't just that that made you fall for Charles Dalton. You're friends with Steven Meeks, which just means you're the smartest girl at Welton. You're on scholarship as your parents weren't really able to afford the costly tuition for that school.
Your parents held you to a higher standard then they did to your older sister. You sometimes wished you could switch spots with her and make her go to Hellton.
You sat on your bed reading your book, you had done your homework already and were just catching up on some reading. You flipped through the pages before hearing a knock on the door.
"Come in!" You shouted setting your book on your lap. Charlie Dalton poked his head in before opening the door revealing Neil and Todd.
"So, this is a lady dorm?" Charlie said looking around. You stood up and laughed patting your skirt down.
"Same as the boys I assume?" You asked and Charlie disappointedly nodded.
"We just dropped by to tell you Poets meeting tonight, be there loser," Neil laughed ruffling your hair.
Neil is like the brother you never had, he treated you just like a sister.
"You're the loser, and I'll be there!" You laughed ruffling Neil's hair. He laughed at the before he chokehold and ruffled your hair. He released you and laughed as you began to hit his shoulder. "I told you not to do that!"
"Sorry! Sorry!" Neil shouted hiding behind Todd as you two circled him.
"Oh god I think Imm going to puke," Todd said before closing his eyes. You and Neil laughed stopping.
"Well, we'll be on our way. Be there on time this time!" Charlie joked before the three of them walked out the room.
You hadn't realized your heart was beating fast. After they left you felt your face heat up as you placed your hand over your heart smiling to you.
Sometimes you wondered if Charlie felt the same way about you as you felt about him. Sometimes you wanted to ask Neil but you just knew he'd make fun of you for falling for Charlie, the player.
You sighed anticipating the moment you'd all meet at the cave like you all usually do. You decided to pick out your prettiest outfit and maybe do your hair if you had the time.
The night rolled around as you picked out your prettiest outfit and did the best you could for your hair.
"Where are you going so dolled up?" Your roommate Tanya asked setting her book down. Tanya has been your friend since the first day at Welton when you were assigned as roommates.
"Same place as always," you smiled grabbing your coat.
"Your little cult society thing?" She laughed and you nodded.
"Not a cult, goodbye now!" You smiled quietly walking out your dorm room rushing out and towards the cave.
You arrived and to your disappointment Charlie hadn't arrived. You sat by Todd who was talking to Neil.
"Everyone's here but Charlie?" You said and Todd nodded.
"It's strange, he just left and we haven't seen him since." Todd explained and you nodded sadly.
"Don't worry, Charlie never misses a meeting, he loves this cave." Neil smiled and you smiled back.
You three chatted with each other before hearing giggling.
"Right over here," you heard Charlie say. "Watch your step."
"Who is that?" You whispered to Todd as two girls walked into the cave causing the poets to stand up, all but you.
"Guys meet Tina and...?" Charlie began, "Gloria!"
The girls giggled at this, "Come on make space!"
The poets moved over as they sat, you were confused and you were hurt. Maybe Charlie didn't like you, maybe you should give up. You felt fire burning inside of you as tears began to form in your eyes.
You really had no right to be jealous or even mad at this, Charlie wasn't your boyfriend. The girls were giggling as the Poets gave them attention. You looked at Charlie who was talking with Gloria as she began to laugh. You felt tears fall from your eyes as you quickly wiped them away.
"I have to excuse myself. It was lovely meeting you Tina and Gloria," you smiled as you got up and left the cave watching your step as you left.
More tears fell from your eyes as you rushed back inside the school and to your dorm room not caring if you made a lot of noise or not.
"(Y/n)? Are you alright?" Tanya asked as she sat up turning her lamp on. You began to undo your hair tears still falling from your eyes as you changed into your night gown.
"Hey, hey. What's wrong?" She asked softly holding you in her arms as you sobbed.
"Charlie doesn't like me. I'm an idiot for believing he did." You cried hugging her tightly. She pat your back holding you tightly. You continued to cry into her shoulder before you became tired.
You sat on your bed wiping away your tears, "I really thought I had a small chance with Charlie. Should've known, he is out of my league." You began.
"Oh shut it, you're out of his league! You're gorgeous and smart!" Tanya comforted rubbing your back as you shrugged.
"Obviously I'm not if Charlie won't look at me," you said laying down facing the wall.
"Get some rest, you're gorgeous never forget that," Tanya said softly as you drifted asleep.
The next morning you woke up facing the ceiling. You sighed before getting up and getting dressed. Tanya was tying her shoes by the time you woke up.
"Hey, what if you sit with me for breakfast? If you'd like." She suggested and you nodded. "Perfect."
You and Tanya walked together as she gossiped about her own little friend group. You nodded and occasionally laughed at what she had to say. You weren't totally there for about 99% of what she said to you.
"Hey girls, this is (Y/n), she'll be joining us for breakfast." Tanya introduced as they all smiled and waved at you.
You loved having girl friends, being around so many boys felt suffocating sometimes but having girls who related to you was refreshing.
"(Y/n)? Why aren't you sitting with us?" Neil whispered to you.
"I don't want to talk to Charlie," you whispered back.
"You'll join us for lunch? Or dinner?" He asked and you shrugged. "You should talk to Charlie, he doesn't even know he did something wrong."
"I don't want to right now Neil, I'll talk to him when I'm ready." You whispered back and he sighed before leaving to sit with the poets.
"So, you and Neil?" One of the girls giggled as you shook your head.
"She's totally with Dalton, should see the way he looks at her," another one giggled. The rest of them giggled with her as they began to gossip about the Poets.
You and Tanya walked to Keatings class. You saw Charlie was outside the door. Tanya looked at you and you gave her a reassuring look, so she walked in as you walked to Charlie.
“So… You’ve been avoiding the poets?” He said sadly looking in your eyes as you shrugged.
“No, I just needed some space. There’s something I have to say,” you began.
“Before you say anything. I haven’t had the courage to be honest with you completely. There’s something I’ve been hiding and I have to tell you now.” He said looking at the floor. You have never seen him be so shy before an unusual thing for Charlie.
“W-What is it?” You asked as he took in a deep breath. You were preparing yourself for the worse possible outcome.
“I like you, like a ton. I was just too scared to tell you,” he said finally looking in your eyes. “It’s just you and Neil, I thought maybe something was going on between you two, you know?”
“Me and Neil? Never, he’s like a brother to me honestly.” You chuckled and he chuckled too.
“So, what did you have to say?” He asked still looking in your eyes.
“It’s kind of funny. Because I really like you too, like a ton too.” You laughed bringing him in for a hug.
“No way you actually like me?” He laughed cupping your cheeks as you laughed and nodded. He pecked your lips quickly before bringing you in for a hug.
“Does this mean I’m your girlfriend?” You asked and he laughed.
“(Y/n) (M/n) (L/n), would you do me the honor of becoming my girlfriend?” He asked as you laughed and nodded bringing him in for a kiss again.
“Ahh, maybe we can do a little less kissing and more going inside the classroom,” Mr. Keating playfully said causing you two to laugh.
