I noticed a while ago that people constantly thank God (or gods, whichever you choose to believe) when something positive occurs consistently. Then I thought, shouldn't we also blame Him when something bad happens? I remember someone saying (maybe it was in the Bible) that bad things happen only when the presence of God is absent. Then more questions arose from within. I thought God was omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent? To go along with that (lack of a better word) "claim" is that we choose through our actions and words whether or not we allow him to interfere in our lives. Which in writing sounds logical, but this is the real world, nothing is that simple. Somehow the 4% margin of error is doubled, tripled, and so on (math isn't my thing). There are children sold into the sex trade industry, women beaten to a bloody pulp, men fighting wars for basic freedoms given to us by God himself, and humanity overall for always being the generation that suffers for the sins of our ancestors. So do I thank him for what is appropriately his work? Yes. Do I blame him for his absence in certain circumstances? Yes, but I blame him for sitting idly by. Suffering from within or not, I as a woman, wife, sister, and a human made in his image would not allow these atrocities to happen if I had the power to cease it permanently.
