Me now, someone whos done a lot of on-and-off research on last names/ancestry and is a tired anthropology student: names dont mean SHIT do whatever you want. Want to have a superhero alliteration type name? Do it. Want "danger" to be your middle name? Do it. Get married and want to create a whole new last name for your new nuclear family? Do it. Always hated your middle name? Change it. Sick and tired of explaining to people that you go by your middle name? Switch em. Have you gone by a completely different name your whole life? Change it. Want to give your kids two middle names? Go right ahead. Want to give your kids no middle name? Do it. Have a double first name and want to drop one of them? Go ahead. Want to give your kids a double name? Go ahead. Want to change your name back to how it was before it was name was anglicized generations ago? Do it. Want a last name that isnt connected to some rich white colonial landowner? Pick your own last name in any language you want. Want to change the spelling of one or all of your names so the spelling is phonetic? Do it. Have a unhealthy relationship with your parents? Change your last name to the name of the city you live in. Names dont mean SHIT when you really look at them

I would suggest also looking into names that have a broad sense of gender connotation. I added a few suggestions above.

(This is just what I have observed from having lived in the Mississippi Delta for 11 years. I've also noticed that double names don't seem to be common in literature.) Note to writers: if you write anything set in the Mississippi Delta you have to have at least two or three characters with double names (and for girls it almost has to start with Mary [the second part can be almost literally any other name]. I graduated high school with at least 7 people who had double names and I know a few more. Double names are a thing, use them. It usually tends to be the first name is Mary (or Sara or Anna/Anne or something or maybe William if your characters a guy) and the second name is the characters middle name but they're referred to as both. The second name is just as likely to be another typical first name (such as Kathryn or Hannah) as it is to be a family name (such as Dent or Butler). This will lead to people who's first name is Mary and that's what they go by being called by their first name and their last name (such as a friend of mine from high school) or people like me who's first name starts with Mari but is one name (Marielle or Marietta [tho that's more recognizable as a regular single name]). Other combos of names can be double names too. Mary/Sara/Anne/Anna + another name are just the ones I'm more familiar with. Emily is also suitable but not as common in my town.

Double names, such as mine, are often a major source of confusion in the regions where I have traveled. It has ceased being annoying and started being amusing a while ago, and I figured I should share. In the US, my name is often misspelled with all the variations of "Katherine" that exist under the sun. I have grown used to that. In Thailand, the "th" sound is difficult to pronounce (observed in the pronunciation of the country: "tai-land" and not "thigh-land"), so I shortened my name to MK. "MK" is also the name of a popular and ubiquitous restaurant chain in Thailand. When they use my abbreviated name, it's usually accompianed by laughter. In Vietnam, my name has also been a major source of confusion. In Hanoi, I was all of "Mary", "Mary Catherine" ('Catherine' as my last name), and "Katerine". And that was at the same hostel, signing up for different activities, at the same time, with the same person. And here at Phong Nha, they retrieved my name from my passport, which is about as clear cut as it gets. Here, I am "Katherin". That's fine, of course, but I'm not sure how they got just that from my passport. Oh well. I've given up on trying to explain that it's both names, guess we'll see what Laos and Cambodia have to say when I venture out there in the near future.
