Something that made you cry this year? All my friends graduating without me in May and moving all over the country back to their homes :( compounded by a former friend reaching out when she moved back home (to where I live) after saying some very not nice and extreme things in the fall and I was already fed up/too emotionally fried for it

Something you want to do again next year? Continue bookbinding! I did my first mini book with a kettle stitch last month and I want to finish binding the fanfic I started typesetting in August and maybe do another one

How was your birthday this year? I had an evening class that day so fine I guess. A couple friends and I got ice cream the next day

Favorite book you read this year? Beartown, Fredrik Backman. Automatic pick. 5/5. Would recommend to anyone (with content warnings tho)

What’s a bad habit you picked up this year? Spending way too much time on my phone. Like, a lot.

A memorable meal this year? This one lunch at my summer job that had hashbrowns but they were literally gray. Memorable for sure. It actually wasn't that bad but the color killed me. Had to crop the pic bc of logos/privacy but I think you can get the gist

What’re you excited about for next year? Having more time to myself post grad. And going on a girls trip with my sister this summer hopefully

What’s something you learned this year? People who want to be in my life will put in the effort to be and won't make it out to be a burden on their time.

What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year? I got a second bookshelf! And took down a lot of my wall shelves and plants in my room because they were overwhelming me

Favorite place you visited this year? A place with lots of sun and palm trees

If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be? Oh boy. You will get an internship even though it will feel hopeless in March. Your senior thesis turns out amazing, despite those professors' comments in December at the midpoint. Don't take that printmaking class in the fall no matter how enticing it sounds—take something easy and have more time for yourself. And Duolingo's Arabic course is the biggest joke of the century, so don't even bother with it in the summer before your actual Arabic class. Also, write me a post grad future email! I can't believe I didn't get anything from my past self this December, this was a milestone! Rude! I am mad AND disappointed!
