♪ - How do you decide on your muse’s dialogue?
[I wish I could say I knew anymore, but really all that happens is I listen to a lot of sound clips of the character until I get a feel for their sentence structure and common words they may say, then while I write a reply, I go over the dialogue and adjust where necessary. It's frustrating, though, because I end up reading over things I'VE written and think, "Bones would've said it like THIS." ]
♕ - What are 5 writing tips you’d give to beginners?
Never stop. It doesn't get easier, you don't feel better about first drafts, but if you stop, you never pick up the skills you want and you never know what the satisfaction of completion feels like.
Read. All the time. Exposure works.
While you read, pay attention to what you like and don't like. When you get a solid idea of that, apply it to your own writing.
You won't start to like your own writing for years, this stage is normal.
Look for the unexpected. It's harder, yes, but skewing the result slightly opens so many more doors, especially in RP.
