The majority of supernatural cases Meifen investigates occur in her home city. Occasionally though, she may receive a case in a rural area- one of the many solar power generating villages. As well as holding most of the farmland to produce food, these villages are generators of much of this worldās energy. Roof tiles are solar panels and each window is a transparent solar cell. Ā Meifenās investigations in these villages present different problems to city investigations. Village communities can be insular and certain villagers resent city people interfering in what they feel is their business alone. Such people may refuse to aid her or to be interviewed or in worst case scenario, may even mislead or sabotage her. This distrust may stem from the cityās micromanaging of rural produce- animals shown to have certain diseases will be confiscated and slaughtered, electricity production is monitored to the watt and if actual production figures donāt match up with what is expected, thereās bound to be trouble.
