“The only time, I watched the movie, was when I was auditioning. Before I auditioned, I watched the movie just to kind of get a sense of what it was, who this character was, the type of - I think River Phoenix did such an amazing job. He's so good. I knew there were certain iconic scenes. Also, one of my audition sides was this scene with Eddie and Rose in the diner, when he initially hears her playing her guitar and walks over and he's like, ‘Oh, you sound real good’, and they have that interaction. So, that scene in the show is very similar to the scene in the movie. And that was one of the scenes that I had in my audition, so I went to the movie to see how that went down on the screen and then see the differences that they made for the Off-Broadway production, just to find what they had changed and why they changed it. Just to understand the direction that they were trying to take for the play. Just yeah, it just helped me understand the world that we're in.”
