#dog!bella #including me lmao #it's so fucking hot and humid and i desperately needed a helper today #so enter arguably the least qualified dog because nobody else could handle the heat #not that Bella does good in the heat #she does absolutely terribly #but she can be trusted off leash and LOVES water so she somehow became the dog of the day #she was great though #Definitely wont be a common occurrence #but it's an option now so that's something #she did get an outfit upgrade to the swamp cooler harness and a biothane collar for the day #(vs her regular tactical harness + thick fleece lined collar)#amazingly all the big girls are the same size so they can all share the same gear #which saves me a lot of time and money lol

#dog!bella #a special post for Bella #it's really hard sometimes to get past some of the harder moments with her #I've had this dog under my care in some capacity for over three years now #and she still has fuck all for leash maners #she resource guards (both from me and other dogs)#she's scared of random things out of nowhere #she has zero social skills #but through it all i wouldn't trade a goddamn second #this dog has taught me more about patience and acceptance than anyone else ever could #she can both break me and make me cry and fill me with such joy and life in such a short amount of time that i ought to be split in half #but instead she's somehow managed to build me up and teach me so many things without her having ever spared it a thought #she just lives her life #one frolic at a time #and has managed to save lives multiple times without any second guessing #i could say countless lives but truthfully I've counted them all #she has no idea the weight she's carried #to her she's just having fun #she embraces each day with such joy and freedom #it is absolutely beautiful

Bella got to play errand buddy today and I think she felt very betrayed when we walked into the vet office because I forgot to grab my pay stubs yesterday

But she learned where all the snackies are and met a couple of my coworkers before we moved along to places Bella actually approves of

#dog!bella #by “met” i mean cautiously sniffed as they completely ignored her #because bella doesn't do friendly unfortunately #BUT she did great overall #no massive freak outs or mauling my arms so I'd say she had a pretty good first “happy visit”#she may not have been *happy* but she was there without completely freaking out so that's a success honestly #hopefully she'll be chill to do that occasionally to help get her a little more comfortable #because it is not very fun to need to sedate your dog just to do an annual exam

#dog!bella #no it's fine i love it when my dog randomly freaks out over something (nothing??) in the middle of the woods #very reassuring #anyway i can very confidently say my cleats are amazing on smooth ice #i had mainly only used them on iced over roads or frozen sleet which is still decently textured #but they're just amazing on anything #also don't fucking let your dogs run around on ice #it seems obvious but apparently people find it hilarious to watch them slip around and risk ccl tears #wild shit #i can tell you from experience that they are not cheap or fun injuries to treat #even with only the partial tear rossi had it was still weeks of bedrest and a plethora of xrays #and here yall are playing fetch on a frozen lake which is the EASIEST route to ligament issues #use your goddamn brains #anyway
