“Class war forbidden love” is what i wrote in my notes app

somehow in a (maybe not so) distant future we’ve somehow finally shifted to an us vs. them mindset rather than the us vs. us manufactured hate that Big They™️ has always tried to sustain to keep the capitalist machine lubed up and FUCKING us all

so maybe the proletariat rise up and there’s a whole lore, a french revolution type reckoning across the globe. governments fall, economies collapse, some of the more… enthusiastic among us actually DO eat the rich 🫣 im literally picturing french revolution but multiplied x100000 bc of technology, population sizes, advanced weaponry, and good ole fashion RAGE

our MC might be second or third gen child, born post global war. very much taught to hate the rich and the powerful, post war education for kids might focus on how money and capitalism used to reign across the world and the consequences of such. **would need to do a bit of research to write this believably. i envision this character would at some point discover that SOME* people with money did attempt to do good in the world… MC may grapple with feeling like not all rich were/are bad while also being taught from birth and shown the horrific evidence and effects of the existence of the super rich.

the other MC is one of the outcasts; a genuine, real life richy rich type. maybe lives in a safe haven for the rich, forged at the beginning of the global class war. this character would have been similarly taught from childhood how savage the poor are, and how they viciously murdered people for no other reason than them being wealthy, etc. perhaps like our other MC, this character similarly has discovered how horrific the world was effected by the greediness of prior generations but feels compelled to remain aligned with their assigned “side” in life

could be interesting political and societal observations to be made through a story of this type. oh and of course they’d be gay bc… of course??? i feel like that itself would also be an interesting plot point in a setting focused on perceived vs. true power struggles

i have some ideas for how these two would encounter one another and some tension points i feel like would work well.
