" Hello everyone I am Duaa Jad Al-Haq, 37 years old, Palestinian from Gaza I have a 5-year-old child named Omar who suffers from autism and does not speak and is going through the worst period of his life because of the war in Gaza. I was on a family visit to see my family in Khan Yunis and I noticed a very positive change in Omar. Being around the nurturing and loving environment of his family was helping him grow. Then the war began and destroyed everything. Our home was destroyed. Omar and I lived in the most difficult conditions inside tents and Omar's condition deteriorated. He began to suffer from shock and panic because of the violence and constant bombings. He would scream and cry whenever the bombing occurred. Out of desperation, I borrowed $10,000 from a friend and escaped Gaza into Egypt leaving behind my husband and family. Omar is now suffering from psychological shock and his health and social condition has deteriorated. He is constantly crying and screaming loudly, having flashbacks of the bombing and destruction he was exposed to during the war. We are now in Egypt, and Omar needs expensive weekly treatments and a school that specialized in autism in order to regain the social development he had before the war. We have been living in my friend's house since we left Gaza. I need your help so that I can rent a house. There are living expenses. I intended to start an embroidery and sewing project in Egypt after my workshop was destroyed in Gaza, but I recently discovered that I cannot start without a permit and this requires a residence permit. I am trying to find a way to start in the right way, and until this happens, I need your support and help. My family is still in Gaza living in tents in horrific living conditions that no human being could bear. There is no bathroom or water to drink. They are now facing death at any moment, and the bombing is still dangerous and very close to them. My father could not bear this situation, so he had a stroke and was no longer able to move or speak. He needs continuous medical care, medications, physical therapy, and healthy food. In light of the high prices, I cannot provide all of this without your help. I ask you to help me restore the positive state that my son Omar was in through treatment and enrollment in specialized schools for people with autism. I also ask for help to protect my parents and husband and get them out of Gaza. The cost of each person leaving Gaza will be $5,000 through the Hala Company in Egypt. I am very confident in your humanity, your love for helping, and your love for doing good. Thank you very much."
