Buck has been a firefighter long enough to know what it means when someone is throwing up flower petals. It means heartache and physical pain. It means almost certain death. He knows, of course. He just never thought it would happen to him.

Summary:   Arthur and Merlin used to be inseparable, best friends of the closest kind, but a blackout on the eve of Arthur’s thirteenth birthday changed everything. That was the day Arthur had to make a choice between keeping his best friend close or keeping him safe from his father. Ten years later, Arthur has mastered the art of pretending Merlin isn’t special, but then he and Merlin end up working on their college’s centennial celebration together. Now Arthur’s just trying to hold everything together without looking like a fool or an asshole. Or both. Arthur is about to find out that far more people need protecting than just his neighbor and maybe, just maybe, he doesn’t have to keep his distance from Merlin after all. On a morning run, Buck saves a kid from the ruins of a house but finds himself unable to escape the wreckage. Injured and alone, he can only hope someone finds him before it’s too late. The team is worried about their absent team member, but surely everything is fine. Isn’t it?

Stiles and Derek share a desk at the station but work different shifts. Stiles is messy and Derek is very neat, which seems to work out fine... until the day the first passive aggressive sticky note is left on the desk telling Stiles to clean up. One note turns into two turns into two hundred as both officers become increasingly interested in their desk partner.
