This lyric hits deep because it’s from a patients perspective;

I’m a nurse.

And I’ve always tried to be this nurse. You get some people who have clearly been in the job too long and have no empathy or compassion. Nurses get bagged a lot and are constantly being criticised for things out of their hands. I go to work every single day with the mindset of

“what would you do if this was your mum/ grandma”

And I’ll tell you guys what this has changed my whole nursing career. I strive to be the “nicer nurse” to put myself in the patients position, to support them not physically but mentally, to educate them and make them aware of their condition, to not spit out medical terminology to show off what i paid thousands to learn but to use language that’s more comforting and understandable and also To address their families with the utmost respect because that’s what I would want.

You get into this world what you put out, thank you to these nicer nurses who have been the reason for this lyric.
