becky was busy being a professional, totally oblivious, just doing her thing. but roxanne? roxanne was leaning against the glass watching that little blonde boy in his dodge charger circle the lot like he was on a mission.
"becky, i think he likes us. just a smidge bit. just a tiny little smidge."
becky didn't even hear her. she was too busy being sovereign. but roxanne was already counting the laps and enjoying the view. twenty-nine years old and hunting a tiger?
good luck, kid.
goodbye earl
The cops came by to bring Earl in. They searched the house high and low. Then they tipped their hats and said, thank you ladies, if you hear from him let us know. Well, the weeks went by and spring turned to summer and summer faded into fall. And it turns out he was a missing person who nobody missed at all. So the girls bought some land at a roadside stand out on Highway 109. They sell Tennessee ham and strawberry jam and they don't lose any sleep at night, 'cause Earl had to die. Goodbye Earl. We need a break. Let's go out to the lake, Earl. We'll pack a lunch. And stuff you in the trunk, Earl. Well, is that all right? Good, let's go for a ride Earl. Hey. Well hey, hey, hey. Aw, hey, hey, hey. Well hey, hey, hey.
Goodbye Earl by The Chicks
Mary Anne and Wanda were the best of friends all through their high school days. Both members of the 4H Club. Both active in the FFA. After graduation Mary Anne went out looking for a bright new world. Wanda looked all around this town and all she found was Earl. Well it wasn't two weeks after she got married that Wanda started getting abused. She put on dark glasses and long sleeved blouses and makeup to cover a bruise. Well she finally got the nerve to file for divorce. She let the law take it from there. But Earl walked right through that restraining order and put her in intensive care. Right away, Mary Anne flew in from Atlanta on a red-eye midnight flight. She held Wanda's hand and they worked out a plan and it didn't take 'em long to decide that Earl had to die. Goodbye, Earl. Those black-eyed peas? They tasted all right to me, Earl. You're feeling weak? Why don't you lay down and sleep, Earl? Ain't it dark, wrapped up in that tarp, Earl?

[Watch] Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town Cover the Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earl"
Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town kicked off their joint co-headlining Bandwagon Tour on Thursday night (July 12) at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, N.C., and country fans in attendance got a very special show. Countless times throughout the night the two bands shared the stage together, proving that the Bandwagon Tour is a true collaboration. One of the highlights during the evening was a standout cover of the Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earl." While Little Big Town were on stage performing at the time, screams can be heard from the crowd when Miranda made her way to the front of the stage to join in. Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild kicked off the first verse of the 1999 Dixie Chicks song while bandmate Kimberly Schlapman stood beside her. Seconds later, Miranda chimed in on the microphone as Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook accompanied on guitars. An animated performance, the crowd could be heard singing along throughout the set. "Goodbye Earl" was far from the only headliner collaboration throughout the concert. The bands teamed up countless times during the tour kickoff on both covers and each act's own material, including Bill Withers' "Lean on Me," Little Big Town's "Boondocks" and "Girl Crush," and Miranda's "Tin Man" and "Little Red Wagon." Miranda and Little Big Town announced the Bandwagon Tour in January. The joint run continues through August and includes openers Turnpike Troubadours and The Steel Woods for select dates and newcomer Tenille Townes. Songwriter Natalie Hemby joins the group throughout the tour's opening weekend. Once the tour wraps in August, Miranda will head to Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum where she has been named the 2018 artist-in-residence. The singer joins the prestigious class for the 15th installment, where she will perform two concerts at the museum’s CMA Theater on Sept. 19 and Sept. 26. Read the full article
