Yeah, and I've had varying levels of success there.
A lot of it depends on how many people are there and if they are talking (again, picking up on speech patterns is often the thing that trips me up), but if there is relatively little conversation, cafes are really handy.
The trick then is that the closest coffeeshop to my house is about a half an hour's walk away, which isn't bad on it's own, but lugging along a laptop makes the walk rather unpleasant. :s
