sam stans pretending that sam never makes any choices and is passive (esp when they use that as proof that sam is “”””the feminine brother””” which is super nasty ugh) is literally the wildest thing ever lmao. LIKE !!!!!! sam is the brother who owned his goals and said fuck you to his toxic family dynamic and went to stanford, got his revenge and redemption etc. how tf is that not making choices is beyond me lmao

I honestly try to avoid Sam stans most of the time so thank God I’ve never seen that lmao sounds terrible.

Sometimes Sam stans seem worse to him that I am. Making him passive in his own life. But in reality 1. they just don’t want to have to own up to the fact that their fave isn’t perfect 2. the narrative leads them to believe this a lot. Like with how the show equates Dean being physically and mentally tortured for 40 years to Sam having his ego stroked for a year. Dean’s autonomy is literally stripped away by decades of torture, but the show wants us to believe that that breaking Dean is the same as Sam making the decision to drink blood and kill Cindy and not trust Dean and Bobby and Chuck and the angels that what he’s doing it wrong.

altho i rlly disagree with idea that dean saying yes to michael is shown as choice instead of destiny??? i mean, michael does say to dean that it’s his destiny to be inside dean lmao.  but i don’t rly agree with idea that saying no to michael was dean's free will either. because dean.....did want to say yes to him.

I assume you’re talking Point of No Return with Dean writing his note and seeking out a missionary? He did try, yes. And he was stopped against his will, the first time. But you have to remember that later that same episode Dean has a chance to say yes and he doesn’t. He makes a choice. Sam is bleeding out. Cas is presumed dead. Bobby is miles away home-bound in a wheelchair. Michael is right in his face if Dean wants him. And Dean says no. He kills Zachariah and they go home.

Did he feel pressured by Sam? Yeah. But that isn’t enough to take away his free will. We see in this ep that Dean has the option to say yes and the option to say no. We never get that for Sam.

We also see Dean choosing to say no in The End. He regrets it, but he did it. He thinks it was the wrong choice, but it was very much a choice.

like, to me dean saying yes to michael would have at least been HIS CHOICE and not being forced to carry on bc sam dependend on him and him thinking he didn’t have the right to hand his body over :(

So none of the listed terms really fit my idea of Dean and Alastair. BUT romantic is probably the closest? Sort of? Like a weird twisted sort of romance, complete with flowers and hearts and serenades and terms of endearment. Just all in warped ways that you don’t really get from other ships. And Dean spent decades with Alastair down in Hell. Alastair knew him in ways that no one else will even come close to; know parts of Dean that no one beyond the shattered broken souls he took apart on the rack will ever see. Alastair will forever be so deeply embedded in Dean that they will always be entwined, even though Alastair has been gone for several seasons and the show doesn’t even acknowledge that he existed or that Dean had anything to do with him died.

First impression: Oh lord. That was over a decade ago, so I don’t 100% remember, but it was probably something along the lines of I LOVE HIM. Because pretty snarky leather wrapped boy who kills monsters.

Impression now: Very much the same only with more depth? He’s still a pretty snarky boy who kills monsters. Just with less leather and twelve seasons of devastating development. And let’s be real, I love him more than I love most actual real live people.

Favorite moment: I love the moments where he stands up for himself. Where he tells people they don’t have a right to make him feel unimportant, or guilty, or like he doesn’t deserve good things. Unfortunately, those are few and far between because the writers don’t love me.

Idea for a story: Dean in a quaint little house with a nice garden and a fireplace and lots of comfy sweaters and bathrobes and as many books to read and movies to watch and dicks to suck as he could ever want and a dude to eat his ass on the regular who treats him like he deserves the world.

Unpopular opinion: Dean’s bisexuality is about him, not the guys he could potentially fuck. :) And his feelings are relevant outside of how they relate to other characters. :) And his life and his choices are his own, not anyone else’s. :)

Favorite relationship: Out of people who aren’t dead yet, probably Crowley. But honestly I love most relationships Dean has on some level or another. I don’t always like certain interpretations of certain relationships, but I like most of them nonetheless.
