X. the Novel book trailer.
Disclaimer : I received e-copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. Tia Lugo Speaks No Evil by Danette Vigilante Publication Date : August 17th 2021 Publisher : Jolly Fish Press Genre : Middle Grade / Mystery Pages : 208 Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 This was interesting Middle Grade mystery that revolved around Tia witnessing a murder that changed her life and filled with paranoia. The story was about friendship, family, honesty, trust, fear, belief, hope, not letting fear control you, courage, and love. Writing was lucid, fast paced and atmospheric with apprehension and fear character felt. Tia was interesting character. She had asthma and author represented kid with asthma really well. her development was really late in the book. And yet I liked how she realised keeping things in and letting fear rule herself and her life wasn’t going to keep her or her family safe. Tia and her family were Latinx who believed in botanica and all spiritual things. It was important aspect of the story. I liked the message in the book about burden of carrying secret, not letting fear rule you, and strength one need to have courage and face the problem are there within everyone without need of spiritual things. Why 3.4 or 4 stars - I was little disappointed with main character. It was frustrating after certain points in the story. I felt there was too much focus or Tia’s paranoia making the story a little melodramatic. Overall, Tia Lugo Speaks No Evil was unique and enjoyable middle grade mystery with well written cultural aspect. You will enjoy this if you like, Latinx culture middle grade murder mystery good message for young readers Atmospheric plotline 𝙌𝙊𝙏𝘿 : Which is your favourite book feature character with Asthma or any heath condition? #TiaLugoSpeaksNoEvil #DanetteVigilante #MiddleGrade #Mystery #diversebook #Latinxculture #JollyFishPress #NorthStarEditions #bookstagrammer #bookishlife #bookishmom #bookaesthetic #fiction #BookReview #BooksTeacupandReviews #bookrec #bookreviewblog #Indianbookstagram #IndianBookBlogger #bookreviewercommunity #bookcommunity #bookgram #bookishlovegroups #igread (at Ahmedabad, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSqoJdRg6BT/?utm_medium=tumblr

What’s your favourite comfort food? 🥞🧀🍕🍣🍜 For me it depends on the day! I might feel like some Korean fried chicken one day, sushi the next, ramen, a chimichanga, random Chinese dishes...but I can say that A Pho Love Story has reawakened my relationship with pho. 🍲✨And I may have gotten a favourite local restaurant out of it too! 💕 Thank you @simonschusterca for sending me a complimentary copy of this book to read and review! 💜 [Image Description: A photograph of A Pho Love Story by Loan Le laying on a wooden table alongside a bowl of pho and fried spring rolls in a bowl and styrofoam container respectively. #bookmail I am a non-conformist. I am not going to jump on any bandwagon. But I do want to pose a question to everyone trying to shame people into conforming to their newfound beliefs...did you order this month's diverse book before someone said something about #botm? Or no? What about the previous months? Did you order the diverse selection or no? My selections this month included the #diversebook. I wouldn't normally order the Riley Sager book, but that's what my #buddyread chose for next month. One to Watch has been on my radar for months, because it is about a plus-sized woman. The other selections I am going to order next month, because they capped me at 3 books. So before y'all go bullying other people into conforming to whatever the latest trend is...work on yourself first. The bullying part makes you WRONG. You make #bookstagram a bad place to be and booksta is supposed to be a safe haven where people who want to escape the world's problems can share the books they've found. After all, books are supposed to be an escape from the world. If you want more #diversebooks, then read and share more diverse books. Note: I said to read them. Choose diverse books BEFORE someone even mentions you should. One thing I love about bookstagram is that I can discover new stories including #ownvoices. Follow the hashtags if you want to read books by #POC. Buy books by POC & the LGBTQ community. The key word there was BUY. It is all about the numbers in the end. If there's a bigger demand for diverse authors, publishers will put out more diverse books. They will hire more POC. We are the change, but bullying people into changing to your worldview and you haven't become the change? You're just trying to trend. Practice what you preach. The bullying needs to stop. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBLMEfyANwR/?igshid=18sx7jv6c8vi0
Finishing up this amazing #diversebook. Race to the Sun is the Navajo contribution to the gods and demigods universe of #RickRiordan. Written by @rebeccaroanhorse. This tale comes out in January. Highly recommend. I have not been able to put this book down. Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing the Navajo stories. It is important to publish these stories, because we must never forget the gods and the ancients. These stories are part of our human race...even if you're teaching a bunch of kids and kids at heart. This book is her #middlegrade debut. She has previously published adult titles: "Trail of Lightning" and "Storm of Locusts." https://www.instagram.com/p/B5nKafzgKTq/?igshid=iwjzk7zjgxak
