If Kurt won Midnight Madness (4x13 “Diva”), then he should’ve been the one to sing the high note during the scene.

It defeats the purpose of Kurt proving he is just as good as Rachel (and emphasising why he won the diva-off) if they cut to her singing the note just because her voice is more “palatable” to the general audience.
