That’s actually a terrific question… 🤔

I don’t think Feyre was up for Starfall at all, to be honest. She’s a single mother recovering from a very difficult birth with a two or three month old baby, and she just returned to a customer service job. When (if!) she realized what day it was, she probably crawled home that afternoon, put Nyx down for a nap, and then started eating magical Xanax like candy. At most, she peeked out her window to make sure there weren’t any Illyrians in the crowd and then let baby Nyxie watch the falling stars from there.

Alchemy Feyre is just a feral little girl who’s so funny, smart, and bratty. Her being so embarrassed about not knowing how to read. Her being scared that Rhys will send her away and apologizing to him for failing, but still trying to get closer to him. Her being star struck by mor and Azriel. Her little hiding spot in the tree. Her trying and failing not to like Rhys. These are just some of my fav moments from the last chapter but I loved her from the very second she glared at Rhys for taking her piece of cake.

And devil in details Feyre is also so cute and so precious. Her utter devotion to nyx is so beautiful. Her talking to him, apologizing to him for accidentally holding him uncomfortably. Her pointing out shiny things to nyx that he might like on her walk home and explaining what they are to him. Being so careful with his wings. Listening to other people’s advice about laying him on his stomach because it’s important for development even tho it makes her nervous. Allowing him to pick what they read, and her trying to read him bedtime stories even tho she struggles but continues to try for his sake.

As I’m writing this I’m remembering all the things I love about aim for my heart Feyre, the world falls down Feyre, and delicate Feyre but this is already long enough as it is. I will say all your Feyre’s are iconic. Especially love the scene in delicate where Feyre tries to murder Rhys with a mug - she’s also precious. You know what. I can’t pick between your Feyres. I’ve tried to do it but like I’m writing this and I keep remembering all the other iconic things your feyres have done in your other fics.

Honestly, I can’t even come up with something intelligent to say in response to this (and, as you know, anon, I’ve been trying for days).

I have so much fun writing Feyre, but she’s also one of the hardest characters to write! We’re in her head for so much of the series that staying true to that while putting her in Serious Dilemmas And Concerning Situations always throws me for a loop when I start editing. I’m so, so glad that you like her as much as I do, in all the different forms she takes.

I always feel like maybe I wax a little too poetic and spend a little too much time on small details like her anxiety about tummy time with Nyx in DITD or her slow journey toward accepting that Rhys, unlike the other adults in her life, genuinely does want what’s best for them her in The Alchemy, so thank you for appreciating those!
