Party for Chronic Fatigue having friend
or "low stimulation party"
Hi, i have idea for a type of party
Idea is inspired by @ iamolivergeorge_ (Oliver George) (on insta) - insta blogger with chronic fatigue, who tells a lot about life struggles of people with such medical condition
One of most often mentioned struggle of chronic fatigue is the feeling of not being included in adventures and loosing friendship connections
So, i have an idea how you can make your chronique fatique friend feel validated and included
Idea is very simple:
it is very hard for people with chronic fatigue participate in high-energy-taking activities: as, for example - long walks in tow., for many walking isn't an option at all
or - overstimulating activities like dancing with loud music in club all night
So this is "low stimulation party" is about: to build the party, with Chronic Fatigue friend, around low-energy-taking and not-overstimulating, but calming and relaxing activities
for example, party can be just all you laying for couple of hours on everything soft you found - blackets pillows, and having some very tasty snacks (comfort food at best) and (non аlcо) drinks like tea or soda. juuuuuuuuust chilling
no phones, especially with sudden loud tiktoks sounds.
no watching movie (someone find it relaxing, but for me it takes so so so much energy - i need to keep the plot in mind, all the "what author wanted to say", crying at dramatical moments, listen that characters says, etc. to already exhausted person by chronic fatigue i assume it feels kind of same)
maybe music - but very depends, if you will manage to find some calm playlist or smth - cool, but be very careful about music choice. you goal here is not "hey lets choose all our fave cool music!" but "let's make our friend feel relaxed and calm in our company"
you can bring plushies, you can make food for party yourself, you can maybe do some calm things like crocheting, stimming toys, build a big comfy pillow tower for your friend (but test construction first for comfort - we tried with very long ago lover, it was cute but spine was hurting) etc - feel free to add to the concept
just remember the core goal of the "low stimulation party" - it is made for friends with chronic fatigue to have time in friends company, feeling calm, relaxed, validated and - included
The world put not accessible surroundings in cities. Put Love and "you are valid and we want you with us, in our friends group. you are important and loved" in your friendship
p.s. the idea goes to people with similar medical conditions which affect ability to go to Big Energy adventure, like hiking or loud music concert with epi triggering light show; not only chronic fatigue
Most humans who went into space seemed healthy, yes, some ‘neurodivergence,’ the odd prosthesis or a diet different from the usual human one, but that did not prevent them from doing great things and finding the answers to everything they wondered ‘why.’ That's why Skul (a nickname given to him by humans, since his species had no skin and was pure bone, especially around his head) was surprised when he arrived on Earth. Humans did not have all their abilities. Some without sight, others without hearing, people without an arm who decided not to use prosthetics, people with more than one distinctive feature from the rest. He was surprised and asked his brother in arms, Jose, about it.
"Well, to go into space you have to pass several tests, not only mental, but also physical. There is no space tourism yet, so not everyone gets to go.‘ Jose shrugged, sipping his coffee. ’It's for safety, but many complain."
‘It seems unfair.’
‘Some people think so, but I don't know. It's a different world. I decided to have a hearing implant not to go into space but to have a better quality of life.’ He watched a person with a green guide cane walk slowly by, their eyes met and he smiled, the person smiled back. ‘I've encountered situations where the implant shuts down and I'm really in danger. At the same time, similar things have happened to people who have prosthetics or some other type of disability. It's dangerous here too, but space is unknown.’
‘I understand, but why doesn't everyone use prosthetics or something to improve their quality of life?’
The human shifted uncomfortably. "Well, there are factors. Some people can't, although we're improving in that area. It's the year 3080 and we're still struggling with this, but it's also the person. I was born deaf, as was most of my family. I remember that many decided not to have an implant. They considered changing for others to be a mistake. I'm not sure, but there's a whole large community of deaf people who simply choose not to have an implant."
‘That sounds complex.’ Skul finally decided to look around. Being in a ‘Disability Assistance Centre’ wasn't his idea when he came to Earth, but his friend had said he had something to do. There were many different types of people, some alone, others accompanied by a person or animal, some, mostly young people, seemed more nervous about moving around or where to go in the building. Skul assumed they were new to this place.
‘Yes, well, every disability is a spectrum in itself. Someone who is legally blind may not be totally blind. It's quite complex.’
Why are people like this?

I’ve been working with my therapist on grieving the changes in my disability like one would a death, because I’m more comfortable with that process. So I’ve been looking for guided meditations that deal with that.
I know I’m not the first person with a progressive disease or disability to go through the process of grieving for their past selves, so why are all of the results for “disability grief mediation” about grieving the disability of your child.
If you want something done right you really have to do it yourself huh?
oh it's so fun when strangers in public comment about me using my ✨radar key✨
"AI makes art accessible to people with disabilities."
Say that to my fucking face, if you can get a word in amongst my screams of regret, spite and fury from deciding to use a pen and losing my eraser when my essential tremor is so bad I can't even type properly!
