Like you can tell the devs added it as a customization feature and not an inclusivity feature

I’ve noticed a huge uptick in people treating it like an aesthetic after BG3 and Dragon Age Veilguard came out

For example if your shark mermaid had vitiligo like patterns because they’re half great white and great whites have white underbellies that feels weird

But if you’re doing something like the na’vi where their patterns are darker than their skin tone and feature a natural and subtle gradient that doesn’t resemble vitiligo in the slightest it’s fine.

Also I feel like a good question to ask yourself is: why do the patterns need to be lighter than the skin tone? Most animals, minus many marine based ones and some birds, have darker patterns on their fur rather than lighter ones
