Okay okay so. Getting to dive back into AO3 (I started this on the 2nd can you tell) has got me thinking like crazy about the Z-team again, but this time in particular, I’ve started thinking a lot about them in the omegaverse setting, and I just wanted to dump my thoughts honestly lol

Disclaimer: I am actually still relatively new to A/B/O dynamics so take my thoughts with a pinch of salt. Also this is rambley

Robert Robertson III

Okay so, I honestly could see an argument for Robert being any of the three. But I am biased to him being an Omega

I think he uses a shit ton of scent blockers. It’s mainly a habit left over from being Mecha Man, as it was beneficial to keep people from knowing his secondary gender- helped keep his identity secret and with his stealth

I also feel like he’d have really irregular heat cycles. I think it’s from a mix of constantly getting seriously injured, high stress, and heat suppressants. His body hardly ever gets the chance to relax and go through the natural cycles it should be

I also think he nests very minimally, because that’s kind of the only choice he has. Half the time he doesn’t even have a nest. His sense of safety is practically nonexistent and he’s extremely protective over the few things that are his.

Omegaverse or not, I think Robert would be pretty firmly no kids at least where he’s at at the beginning and end of the game. It feels like way too much to expose a child to. Maybe he could be convinced otherwise eventually, but it’d really depend on the circumstances. (This is not me being against the child aus I love seeing ship children lol)

I’ve seen quite a few people say that his scent would be coffee related somehow, which I do really like, but I think there would be a little more to it. Maybe a hint of ozone in there. He smells sorta like a coffee shop on an overcast day.

Invisigal

I’ve seen most people make her a beta but honestly I think she’s also an omega. I also think she’s got a lot of internalized issues with being an omega and how it makes society at large view her

I think she doesn’t do scent blockers because “it’s not my problem if you can’t fucking control your instincts”. She hates feeling like everyone expects her to tone herself down just so alphas don’t have to keep themselves in check

In this setting, there would also be another layer to her having issues being vulnerable, as she wouldn’t want to be seen as a ‘stereotypical weak omega’ either (she probably needs to unlearn what she judges other omegas for too)

I think her scent is probably very sweet, sort of like a mix of candies that all smell good together but you can’t quite pick out any scent in specific. Definitely takes on an unpleasant sour note when she’s upset

Phenomeman

Okay so I’m sure someone has already had this idea but I haven’t seen it yet. I just feel we as a fandom could really play around with the fact that phen isn’t a human in the omegaverse lmao. So what if his people change their secondary characteristics based on outside factors?

I imagine it’d be similar to how species of animal irl do this, so I’m thinking it’d be based on a sort of social response.

So basically, if he’s in a pack with an over abundance of omegas, he’d be an alpha. If there’s many alphas and omegas, but few betas, he’d be a beta. Does this make sense? I just feel like the concept is fun to play with.

Spoiler alert: I think he’s hanging around A Lot of alphas lol

So, he’d most likely be presenting as either an omega or beta with the Z-team. Personally, I lean more towards him being a beta, because I think the Z-team absolutely would need that balance to an extent. All the alpha instinct bullshit going on in a room with them all at any given time needs at least a few people who are more steady and less affected by it lol

I also am a ‘betas still have a scent’ truther. So, while it’s fairly toned down comparatively, he still has a notable and identifiable scent. Specifically, I think he smells like a mix of space and a sunny day. So his scent is warm and relaxing with some hints of fruit like notes and rum. There’s a hint of metallic notes in there that do make his scent sort of noticeably alien, and maybe it’s one of those things you either love or hate lol

In the case that he’s presenting as either an alpha or omega I think his scent just begins to lean one way or the other. More like space as an alpha, more like a sunny day as on omega or something like that

Also him being an alien, I don’t think human suppressants would work on him in either direction.

Flambae

He’s definitely an alpha, I think we can all agree on this one lol

I think he is very much not a fan of using scent blockers and, being who he is, he’s pretty easy to rile up

He definitely smells of fire in some way, that’s a no brainer. But I think he smells of some notable spices as well. I’m thinking it’s like a mix of cinnamon, black pepper, and a smokey wood smell.

I think he’s really not one to actively search out a mate, and I don’t think he’s the type to only hook up with omegas lol. I think if/when he does find someone he genuinely wants to have as a mate it kind of really throws him for a loop (insert your ship here but I think it’s funniest with Flambert and Waterbae for similar but also different reasons lol)

Preface for this one- I prefer the idea of mating bites being a mutual thing. That being said, I think Flambae is surprisingly private about his when he first receives one because it feels raw and vulnerable in a way that makes him feel a little shaky. Give it like a week tho and he’s proud as hell of it, because if he’s gotten to the point of letting someone mark him like that he was already sticking to them for forever

Waterboy

Speaking of Waterboy- yeah, of course I imagine him as an alpha lmao.

Obviously, he struggles a lot with being not quite what you expect out of alphas. He’s never been the overly domineering and room capturing type, and when he first presented it got him made fun of even harder than he already was.

He definitely wears scent blockers to be considerate for everyone around him, but it’s also partially to conceal his secondary gender somewhat. He’d rather people don’t give him that surprised look every single time it comes up

He’s another that I think has some slight issues with his instincts and fighting against and suppressing them rather than working with them. He is so so so pent up someone help him please

I think he’s always been one to not be specifically searching out omegas as well. Matter of fact, I think he might’ve went through a bit of turmoil with that in his younger years depending on how accepted you think unconventional relationships are in the omegaverse

He for sure has always wanted to find a person to mate with one day- romanticizes the idea of marking and everything.

I think he smells strongly of petrichor for sure. But also, and I don’t have a completely justified reason for this, I feel he’d also smell of mint. Like not really strong artificial mint, but a natural mint plant type smell. Idk it’s just the first thing that felt right while I was thinking about it lmao

Lowkey, I feel his scent without blockers would be extremely domineering in a room whether he liked it or not lmao. Always surprises people when they realize who it’s coming from

Blonde Blazer

Okay so I think Blazer is an alpha, or reads that way to everyone else at least because of amulet nonsense.

Hear me out, though. I feel like Mandy is a beta (maybe even omega but I really feel beta more)

Amulet totally amplifies her scent too.

I’m not 100% sure what I think she smells like as Blazer I’m blanking on that one. As Mandy though, I think she smells very fresh and warm. Like being under a freshly cleaned blanket while something bakes in another room. Not sweet though, per se. Like a calm home if that helps paint what I’m trying to describe

She 100% would want to be a parent, and I could see her conceiving as Blazer but parenting more as Mandy. Idk there’s some shenanigans involved with that idea in particular but I definitely see it

It was a hard adjustment when she first got the amulet I think, because spending so much time as an alpha starts to affect some of her instincts as Mandy as well. Much more sensitive to omega and alpha scents, heats and ruts, more immediately protective of those in her pack etc than what people expect from a beta

Okay so these are the ones I have the most thoughts about (some more than others clearly) but I do have thoughts on how i see the others as well. This has just been sitting in my drafts and I’ve been very slowly trying to write the thoughts out and i have to sleep soon and i just want to post at least this part of it-

I feel like carring him around like a teddy bear would heal me but its hard to tell if he has not only strenght, but also weight of 10 men, so for now I will give up on that😞

୨୧Punch Up Headcannons! (Fluff!)

→ First of all, I think this man would adore his partner. DAMN STRAIGHT HE’D TREAT YOU RIGHT!! 

Colm is actually really sweet, honestly. I feel like he’s the type of guy to get you things you want without you even having to  ask for them. Mention something about being thirsty? He’ll pour you a glass. Want water instead of alcohol? He’ll pour you a new one! 

Food, clothes, makeup—anything, honestly. If he sees your eyes linger on an item for a second too long he’ll mentally add it to a list of things he can (an probably will) get you eventually: whether it’s for a holiday, birthday, or just because. He likes seeing the way your eyes light up when he gives you the sweater you had been wanting, or the concert tickets you wouldn’t shut up about for the past month. 

→ Likes to show you his favorite Irish songs. He loves it when you spend some of your time learning about and listening to the things he likes <3 (it makes him swoon like a mf)

→ I feel like every Friday he cooks you a BOMB ass dinner. Perhaps a mean lasagna, or maybe a juicy steak… this man is breaking out the step stool and the pink frilly apron that is actually his.

If you don’t like classic American home cooked meals, he’ll make you Irish ones! If you don’t like that, or have something you like more, he’ll make it instead! I genuinely think he’s a good cook. Tell me I’m wrong.

→ probs very ooc but I think he would in fact let you put ribbon around his biceps and I do in fact think he would flex to snap it. He does it because it makes you giggle and tweak out, he does it for his ego—it’s a win-win. (Let me have fun.)

→ Saturday nights are movie nights. Get on the couch and snuggle this man while you both munch on buttery, salty popcorn and cuddle up underneath a fuzzy blanket that’s like three times the size it needs to be… moments like those are some of his favorite.

→ if you work at SDN, bring him his favorite coffee so that he doesn’t have to drink the shitty stuff in the break room. 

→ if you DON’T work at SDN, drop off some lunch for him sometimes—it is guaranteed to make this man’s day.

→ his heart will melt at worried texts from you when he’s dispatched, or afterwards when he gets out of a nasty fight. Let this man come home with a boo-boo worse than a scrape and you’ll never let him hear the end of it. 

I say that as in you won’t shut up about how worried you are—NOT scolding him. He’s a grown man, a grown man who you knew before getting together with him was in a dangerous field of work—or rehabilitation or… whatever. 

“I was worried sick!” “I’m so glad you’re okay—“ “Honey please try and be careful! I hate seeing you like this…” 

After cleaning him up or replacing his old bandages in your shared apartment, you’d press a gentle kiss to the top of his head, holding his hand. “I’m glad you’re okay, Colm.” You say with a sweet smile that he returns. 

→ NICKNAMES NICKNAMES NICKNAMES

I THINK HE WOULD CALL YOU THE FOLLOWING (as long as you like them): Angel, love, A stór(my treasure), darlin’, and probably more but I think he would like those the best! If you don’t like that stuff he’ll refrain, but definitely expect him to call you things in Gaelic. (I’m pretty sure that’s the language Irish people speak… right? Correct me if I’m wrong I tried to look it up.)

→ if you bake for this man he will eat ALLLLL of that shit. ‘Fantastic gimme fourteen of em right now.’ 

I’m being so serious. Maybe you bake a batch of cookies and tell him to bring it into work so he can share with the rest of the Z-team: he will! But eat everything in his car(if he finds a way to drive) and just tell you everyone enjoyed them. (They would have if they got to have any.) 

→ you’re the one he takes to get togethers and work parties. Every time. Without fail. 

→ I also think he lowkey won’t come to said events sometimes if you express that you yourself want to stay home. It isn’t that you tell him he can’t go or that you’d rather him stay home: no, he just makes the choice that he doesn’t want to go anymore. Having Colm pull up to a function with you not by his side is rare, very rare. 

→ I think that one day he wants to open a bar with you. He’d love to share that sort of experience with you, that kind of step. 

I also think he’d love to watch you spread your kindness with costumers: anyone who treats you bad or responds to you rudely is getting kicked (punched) the PHHHHHUCK outta there. 

→ if you’re also on the Z-team I think that he would be just as worried about you deep down, but he’d also be so confident in you and your abilities. You kick some ass during a mission? “That’s my girl/boy/lover.”

→ love love LOVES the fact that you’re taller than him. He uses you for things lwk… yes, I fear he does make you grab things in spurs when he’s feeling lazy. Let the man live 😒

→ I kind of think he uses emojis too literally, so you’d either have to teach him how to really use them OR just giggle with he uses the laughing crying emoji when he sends you a silly meme he found on Reddit. 

→ oh, I also think he uses Reddit lol. SONAR PUT HIM ON OKAY—

→ Bonus points if you help him trim his mustache… only if you’re good at it though. If you end up lopping off half of his glorious facial hair he will cry.
