Like, me casually mentioning that something would be nice, him going about it in a way that makes me super uncomfortable, them him getting cross because it was such a nice thing and why can’t you just be happy, you’re so ungrateful, which quickly becomes I do so much for you, you’re so lucky to have me in your life, which is evident in HS because of the clear “best bro” type relationship Jake craves (yet still doesn’t actually get - not deserving???). Like, Dirk not even responding is bullshit too, as is punishing Jake for complaining by turning off the brobot (commence Jake never admitting to feeling uncomfortable again? All sorts of shit could lead from that.)
Anyway, Dirk (certainly at this point) is trash, and I hope this gets explored more because holy hell this is triggering as fuck but it’s important.
