2 amazing books that sauces lovers and members of the association would love !

First is on the history of the iconic Heinz packaging, and the other one is an amazing Heinz cookbook. I started reading the one on packaging, and it is very interesting and funny to see what ketchup or Catsup bottles looked like.

They look so beautiful in my bookcase !

I'm just back from Portugal, where the weather was amazing ! 

I brought 2 hot sauces, because that's what they love there ! It makes the weather even hotter...

The 1st one : "Molho de Piri-Piri" by Barba Rija (made by Incopil, http://www.gastronomias.com/incopil/) I tried it today with rice and prawns cooked with peppers and garlic, and in a wok of vegetables with chicken. This is hot with a good taste, very different from the well-known Tabasco ! It's less hot than the hot sauces from Mexico, like the one I talked about. (El Yucateco) It gives a dish more nature.

The 2nd one : "Piri-Piri hot sauce" by Flor Das Hortas, distributed by Pimensor. (http://www.pimensor.pt/) In fact, this is Piri-Piri oil, and I first tried it with "frango" (chicken in portuguese). They give you a paintbrush to put it all over the chicken. This is very hot ! But it makes a simple piece of chicken amazing !!!

I already tried the Spicy Banana and the Jerk !!! I have to admit I was very intrigued by the Spicy Banana, and now I can tell this sauce is just amazing. First, a great smell, then an amazing taste !!! I felt the vinegar first and then had all this fruity sweetie taste that makes this sauce very unique. 

Concerning the Jerk, I was like "It smells Indian" :) I tried it as a dip and I appreciated a lot the spicy taste. But I'm sure it makes all its sense if you cook chicken or beef with it. It looks more like the indian Madras paste than a proper dip. But let me say I loved it as a dip too :)

Very good point : Indications on the bottle that says with what the sauce fits the best !

I'll definitely try the others after.

Here I just received my gifts from Heinz in the Netherlands !!! Some problems to get them delivered with Chronopost, but they are finally in my hands !

Here you have the new Heinz Ketchup with Balsamic Vinegar. Its been a so long time ketchup did not have a new recipe but it is done now, and handsomely done. I already tried it and it's just amazing. I saw it in my supermarket and was thinking of buying it. 

Then, you have the most beautiful bottle of Heinz Ketchup !!!! A huuuge thanks again for sending me this customized version ! It is as if it was my birthday today :) I hope people will follow my tastes and buy it now !

I still can't believe it !!! 

Now, I will continue my dipnsauce quest !

A saucy night at a terrace with homemade French fries and the beautiful sun ! 

"Moutarde de Dijon" by Heinz (http://www.heinzfoodservice.fr/fiches-produits-par-conditionnement), and mayonnaise by Benedicta (http://www.benedicta.com/) which belongs to Heinz. I think the "Moutarde de Dijon" is only for the foodservice, never seen it in supermarkets. However, Benedicta is in every supermarkets.

So, it was quite a Heinz night ! :) You can also see the best seller at the back.
