Djarin/Maul fic but instead of it being the AU where Maul lived past the Empire and shows up to the Seeing Stone on Tython instead ☝ it's the one where Maul lived past the Empire and has hired Djarin on more than one occasion and consequently is in Djarin's little black book of wildly powerful and influential friends that he doesn't know he has (the friends or the book). So when they eventually cross paths again Maul gets to play the wounded friend card like "My dear Mandalorian ally I would have been delighted to train your new young son in the ways of the Force had you only called upon me" and Djarin gets to look him dead in the eye and go "oh I'm so sorry I didn't know you're a Jedi, can you do the magic hand thing too?" Like do you guys see my vision? Can anyone hear me?

Listen. Obviously I don’t think the Mandalorian is stupid. He’s obviously very intelligent and has good problem solving skills and all that shit. But I wouldn’t consider him scholarly. Mean I think he’d hear Maul say “antidisestablishmentarianism” unironically once and Din would be like “stop. Stop casting spells on me.”

Din and Maul both caring for Grogu is great because it’s a man who literally adheres to the highest form of modesty and a man who only wears a shirt when someone else puts him in one
