I was handed yesterday a 'certificate of recognition' by the humanless store director for 'serving' five years at 'Dime-a-Dozen.' Five years. Wow. Has it been that long? Hmmm....although I don't have a whole lot of pride for my employer, or my job there, I do have a sense of pride for what I accomplished as a result of my five years. I bought and paid off a car little less than four years of that five-year span. We won't discuss that dark period between 2009-2010, but I am happy to say that in less than two months from now, I will be getting married. I met my soon-to-be wife at my employer, so there is some good that came out of 'Dime-a-Dozen.' I am successfully moved out, and paying rent on time (also not in debt, proud to say).
My pride and joy really comes from my writing - but I wouldn't be writing without the inspiration of thinking up stories at my employer during those mind-numbing shifts.
All and all, I am grateful of the five years I served.
