Digory and Brennus for the character dynamic asks!
@italiangothicwriteblr
OOOOH, thanks for the ask!
So THUS FAR these characters have not met--but might later.
Digory would be rather horrified by Brennus' backstory, though he'd find a lot of similarities to his own, ESPECIALLY after he finds out the truth behind his parents' deaths. A part of him would worry about Brennus' coping mechanisms, but Digory knows that different people react to the same thing in different ways.
Brennus, would, in all honesty, be surprisingly jealous of Digory. Here's Nettie's best friend who is a master at a foreign language and who has a PLACE in the north, a place with no one telling him he should be elsewhere or that he's "destined for better things". A part of him would also be worried about where he now fits into the story if Digory is the brains and Nettie doesn't necessarily NEED a new blacksmith.

Captive Winter: Meet the Cast (cont'd)
Digory: An orphaned acolyte with a stutter, Digory is all too happy to hide himself from the world behind the protection of his best friend, Nettie, and his faith. But when the religious leader who raised them frames them both for attempted murder, Digory finds himself exiled to the far north, separated from Nettie and at a loss as to where his religious beliefs now fit. Thanks to his talents as an artist, Digory is apprenticed to the northern king's uncle, a cartographer, and begins to learn more about the vast land he now calls home. As he ventures further into the unknown, he begins to unravel secrets of his new benefactor--secrets that could reveal a mysterious threat to both his old world and his new one.

👑🦀 for whichever WIP you opened last!!
Thanks for the ask! 👑 Random Fact: Digory's stutter wasn't originally a part of his character, but then I decided to add it in because it fit him and gave me the excuse to research different speech patterns.

“A moment, my lord?” Elsa said, brushing her hands off. Flour sprinkled to the counter, but she ignored it, walking over to the nobleman and tugging him around the far corner. They weren’t far away enough, because Digory could still hear every word that was spoken.
“You’re taking him on an expedition?”
“What of it?”
“He’s a boy!”
“He’s not nearly as young as I’m certain you would wish. Besides, he has a sharp mind and a good eye for detail. He’s also willing to learn and do what is asked of him, which is a far cry from half the men in this castle when it comes to venturing outside the walls.”
