Ember, for her part, did not look at all human when she arrived near Alex; her hair and eyes were pure flame, and scars peeked from beneath two layers of clothing; casual leggings and a tee over a material that would be hard to identify, but was almost certainly magical. Her face was faintly lined with scars, but her smile was wide, and her eyes crinkled from the strength of it.
