mmm...food...mmm--mm-m-mm...
I’ve been doing what I call a nutrition plan (Coach calls it a six week challenge) since about April. I’d say I’ve had good success with it. It has been alot of work to keep foods prepared and I really miss having heavy cream in my coffee, but sticking to it has been easier than I’d ever dreamed.
I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed when I held rigidly to the plan for the 6 weeks and I only lost a measly 16 pounds. I couldn’t see a difference in my body, either. Kudos to me...so, 1 meal of whatever I wanted, and then right back to it.
Well, here we are staring down October. I’m down 30+ pounds. I’ve not eaten exactly to plan--most weeks I have 1-2 meals &/or foods that don’t fit the prescription. In spite of this, I’ve rather consistently lost about 2 pound per week. Some weeks I’ve lost a whopping 4 pounds!!! ...and there have been weeks where I lost zero because I had too much stuff that wasn’t on point--Anybody got a cure for chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-craze? Haha.
Now, I’m wanting some of the “old foods” I used to have...and I know it won’t work. Interestingly enough, I’m also wanting some of the healthier stuff I used to have, too. I’m pretty lazy about cooking & prepping food. So, if I’m going to try new recipes, they gotta be quick and easy with minimal ingredients. (If you’ve got some ideas, I’m all ears...but its gotta be no sugar, no processed, & little or no fat.)
Cross your fingers, y’all! I took out the slow cooker & seasoned up a bunch of chicken breast in an attempt to copy bbq flavor w/out all the sugar. It might be a home-run. It might be a complete disaster...but its making my house smell great!!!Â
