Omfg if you ever need a reminder that your employer is not your friend
YesSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
I left the employ of a corporate massage company where I really liked working because they booked massage therapists (super physically demanding job!) 5 hours or more with zero breaks for water, restroom, or food.
Uhm...you’d think they would realize if their therapists aren’t healthy (and happy!) they won’t be there to make the company $$$.

reblog for good things to happen to you
the universe will listen
I could use some good...
Hey, Universe, could you send a few more regular clients?
Thanks!
Feeling a bit frustrated here...I was working in the world of corporate massage for a while, but the long drive got old. So, I began working closer to home from a chiropractor’s office.
More money, more clients, more consistent he claimed.
Almost 3 months now...tips are shit, bookings are no where near what he expected, and I’m about ready to cut days at his location so I can go back into the world I just left.
Ugh.
Dear Universe,
Send positive vibes and lots of clients who tip well.
Thanks!
So, I think the weight lifting coach is angry that I showed up a bit late today. I’m a therapist. My schedule fluctuates. Most of the time, I gotta be there early to make it on time to my first session. Sometimes, I gotta do some body work before I go throwing heavy shit around with the added bonus of not needing to hustle my ass off all day...so I arrive a little bit later. Big deal.
I’m beginning to think he’s as moody as prissy hormonal PMS-ing little bitch.

Plus and minus...but they’re both pluses...wth?
Got my first InBody Scan of the year done a few days ago.
Gained 6 pounds since 11/23. 2 pounds are muscle. Yay!!!
Now as for the rest
time to burn them off!!! I’m gonna need a bigger bucket. Lol

Someone please tell my significant other this!
I’ve been wondering why I’m married for a long, long time...I could easily have a roommate who helps pay the bills, does more chores, and provides me with orgasms.
Nutrition Challenge update
So, in 4 weeks, I’ve basically stayed the same weight, began consuming less sugary and high-carb items, and read an interesting article about weight loss/habits/nutrition.
Glad this was a very cost-effective program! Overall, I’m a bit disappointed. Then again, I crave more detailed assistance than they were prepared to offer this time around...not to mention I’m probably the most bizarre/complex case they’ll ever encounter. (Shrugs)
So I tried the In-Body scan again.
Wamp, wamp, waaaa!
Gained about 2#. Sigh. Legs = weaker. :0
Upshot: Arms are now @ 130%. Torso now @ 116%.
Back to the drawing board.
Anybody out there tried Noom???
Started a nutrition challenge with my gym. So, far all the info they’re putting out is status quo. For me, the info is old news and not applicable since I’m a freak who functions best without plants.
Proud as punch of the coach who doesn’t seem to be off-put by this! Her status just got elevated a bit. She’s new to coaching and was someone who went out of her way to speak to me during classes she attended.
I think that gal may be on track for having a significant influence in the lives of others...I hope she proves this to be true.
In-body Scan
Anybody here tried it?
I went yesterday and had one done.
Interesting info. Lots more detailed than I’d thought it would be.
Fun fact 1: I carry just over 30 pounds more muscle than the average woman my height & age.
Fun fact 2: I have better than average strength in my arms, but less than average strength in my legs. (Wth?)
Loved the detailed info. Best tidbit provided was the amount of calories necessary just to support my beautiful muscles. No more starvation diets for me!
Now, I just gotta decide I really want to get more of the excess off and get after it (nutritionally speaking, of course)!

100%!!!
“If autism isn’t caused by environmental factors and is natural why didn’t we ever see it in the past?”
We did, except it wasn’t called autism it was called “Little Jonathan is a r*tarded halfwit who bangs his head on things and can’t speak so we’re taking him into the middle of the cold dark forest and leaving him there to die.”
Or “little Jonathan doesn’t talk but does a good job herding the sheep, contributes to the community in his own way, and is, all around, a decent guy.” That happened a lot, too, especially before the 19th century.
Or, backing up FURTHER
and lots of people think this very likely,
“Oh little Sionnat has obviously been taken by the fairies and they’ve left us a Changeling Child who knows too much, and asks strange questions, and uses words she shouldn’t know, and watches everything with her big dark eyes, clearly a Fairy Child and not a Human Like Us.”
The Myth of the Changeling child, a human baby apparently replaced at a young age by a toddler who “suddenly” acts “strange and fey” is an almost textbook depiction of autistic children.
To this day, “autism warrior mommies” talk about autism “stealing” their “sweet normal child” and have this idea of “getting their real baby back” which (in the face of modern science) indicates how the human psyche actually does deal with finding out their kid acts unlike what they expected.
Given this evidence, and how common we now know autism actually is, the Changeling myth is almost definitely the result of people’s confusion at the development of autistic children.
Weirdly enough, that legend is now comforting to me.
I think it’s worth noting that many like me, who are diagnosed with ASD now, would probably have been seen as just a bit odd in centuries past. I’m only a little bit autistic; I can pass for neurotypical for short periods if I work really hard at it. I have a lack of talent in social situations, and I’m prone to sensory overload or you might notice me stimming.
But here’s the thing: life is louder, brighter and more intense and confusing than it has ever been. I live on the edge of London and I rarely go into the centre of town because it’s too overwhelming. If I went back in time and lived on a farm somewhere, would anyone even notice there was anything odd about me? No police sirens, no crowded streets that go on for miles and miles, no flickery electric lights. Working on a farm has a clear routine. I’d be a badass at spinning cloth or churning butter because I find endless repetition soothing rather than boring.
I’m not trying to romanticise the past because I know it was hard, dirty work with a constant risk of premature death. I don’t actually want to be a 16th century farmer! What I’m saying is that disability exists in the context of the environment. Our environment isn’t making people autistic in the sense of some chemical causing brain damage. But we have created a modern environment which is hostile to autistic people in many ways, which effectively makes us more disabled. When you make people more disabled, you start to see more people struggling, failing at school because they’re overwhelmed, freaking out at the sound of electric hand dryers and so on. And suddenly it looks like there’s millions more autistic people than existed before.
“…disability exists in the context of the environment.”
Reblog for disability commentary.
That last paragraph is absolutely important.
Holy crap! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
