the part that no one disclosed was that after dulvey, louisiana, the connections were still out there. they were still causing issues for the masses that were those who were protecting innocent civilians from the threats of bioterrorism. specifically, the dso.

he'd found a few leads, after having done research for the past 3 months to try and pin down a few agents from the connections, but what he doesn't expect is steve. not that he knows what steve looks like, or knows him on a first hand account, but it was interesting to point a gun directly at someone and wonder if he has the wrong person.

 "You know, it's funny. Despite everything, it doesn't...feel like you've changed much."

It's said very bluntly, and with every bit of awareness that Steve won't have a clue who that is. It's not said for Steve's benefit.

"Your 'inconspicuous' friends should get out of this place. They will gain nothing here - especially since all of the interesting parts happened a long time ago."

the familiar aroma travels to his nose long before his eyes open, causing his lips to twist into a crooked grin. he’s been stuck at his desk for who knows how long, as he made several attempts at writing up a report on his most recent finding regarding umbrella-based activity. the issue is that he isn’t cut out for desk work; in truth, he never was, but this is different than his days working under the S.T.A.R.S team.

after hearing the mug against the grain of his desk, a hand lazily reaches for it as one eye opens. “ more like two or three. actually, i’m not sure right now. ” his hand grips the handle of the mug, but before he brings it to his mouth, he peels his body off the desk & into a sitting position again. as he does this, chris can feel every muscle in his back scream at him, serving as a reminder to never lie on his desk again.

yet, he does his best to ignore the pain while focusing on the coffee. after a long sip of the drink, he brings his focus onto @seekschaos & sighs. “ can’t i just hire someone to do this shit for me? i need to be back out there, not stuck in this damn room typing away at a computer & before you say it, yes i have been typing. i just have yet to get beyond the first paragraph. ”

The cacophony of curse words exiting his lips. How had the kid made it look so fuckin easy? "Show me again." He shoved it back through the bars toward the teenager. A big grin plastered across...Stephens? No, it was Sebastian. He didn't recall a B in the name. Samuel? Shit, he was so distracted trying to remember the kid's name, he missed the steps to do the trick.

He handed the item back to Hector, and yet again he tried, only ending up with a mess in his hands. Grumbling more annoyances, he rolled it back up and tried again. Feeling close to getting it, just to fail again. "Whatever, yo-yos are stupid anyway." He pushed it back into the cell for the other to play with, something to keep him busy.

"You can try again later." Said with a small chuckle as Hector leaned against the wall next to the cell. Peeking in as yet again, the kid showed his skill with the stupid thing.

"Naw, we are leaving. Training is done, I am out of here." Which was a pretty heartless thing to say to someone -- stuck for someone else's mistakes. He didn't think about it till after he said it and saw the other stop mid-trick. "Don't worry, Spencer, it won't be forever." That was totally his name, he was sure of it. Pushing off the wall, he started his slow walk out of there. He knew he had lied and that it was forever. He was never getting out of here.

This wasn't her first rodeo with someone like him. It wasn't the least bit surprising how unwilling he was to give her any information beyond a one-word answer. Yet she still wanted to push a bit further - aware that it may not have the best outcome.
