You realize that Asseylum literally blamed Slaine for killing her and starting the war, right? While he should be held for being a part of it, blaming him for killing her in the first attempt is way too far. Not to mention implausible as he was a servant boy with no power then. There's no reason they couldn't have held Saazbaum and Slaine accountable for it. Or even have other orbital knights who massacred terrans instead of him being the entire face of the war and lying.
Where are you getting the idea that Asseylum did that. It was the Earth media reporting that, not something she said, implied, or anything of the sort.Â

(To add to that though, it’s kind of impossible for her to clear his name until she knows who actually DID do it, and she really has no way of knowing. If Maazurek had known after all, he would have ratted Saazbaum out. And until she goes to talk to the other counts who are still on Earth, that’s not going to happen.)Â
