So as somebody who is also obsessed with the Saints Row series and is hyped as shit about AoM, are you worried about the success of this game? Us true believers know it's gonna be awesome, but I see a fair amount of hate for it online. I'm just afraid the unwarranted hate will affect the success of the game, thereby affecting whether we get a sequel, etc.
If you are asking me honestly, nope.
I have been with the Saints Row series since almost the very beginning. Right before Saints Row 2 was announced, so I actually know that Volition can make it without a lot of popularity. I mean, Saints Row was pretty unknown until Saints Row The Third. If you pay attention the this particular fandom, you’d see that a great majority started the game from the 3rd.
So basically, despite all the unnecessary hate for the game that’s going on online, the reasons for it are extremely shitty. It’s just the idiots who are still made that Volition won’t make Saints Row 2 2.0. They said V should start a new IP if they don’t wanna stick with the gangster roots, and they did now it isn’t cool. Their only function here is to trashtalk.
Personally, I am really excited for the game and am happy for everything that will come for it. There are bunch of old fans that are seduced by this new style and let’s not talk about all the new fans that will come.
AOM will most likely get a sequel regardless of the shit it receives from assholes and such.
