i need to ramble about project hail mary because im so not normal about it
Grace being seen as cowardly (by himself and others) really gets me, because most of all, Ryland Grace wants to live. Grace has so much love in his heart. He loves his students. He loves fog and the beach. He loves science and discovery. And most of all, he loves the earth. Is he a coward for wanting to stay in a world he loves so much? Is it cowardly for a fox to run from the hounds? Is it selfish for a fly to struggle in a web? Is it wrong for a man to want to live, even when his death could save billions?
ok so. Eva Stratt. The woman ever. People compare Grace to a sacrificial lamb, which he is, but so is Stratt. She knows that she won’t get away with everything she did for the project. She knows her actions will catch up with her. By being the person in charge of Project Hail Mary, she is placing all the blame onto herself, a scapegoat for the evils of salvation. And something in the book that isn’t mentioned in the movie, Stratt is a history major. She knows more than most the terrible things humanity is capable of doing. She has seen the atrocities done by man. But she’s also seen how much we can love. And that is what makes us worth saving. That’s what makes her willing to kill a man who’s begging for his life. That’s what makes a sacrificial lamb hold a knife to her own heart.
Currently in the process of redoing my practice and figuring things out. A lot has changed in this year alone. I’m not sure whether I’ll share the insights of my reflection work just yet. Honestly, I’ll probably have to check in with my spiritual team and ask what they think about sharing the progress I made. Azel, the con man that you are xD I restarted playing IkePri and reading through routes for fun during my vacay to see my folks. Azel was the next in line. And I have a feeling he will be in my top fav characters. I'm in chapter 11 and I can't get rid of the ace spectrum vibes I get from him lol. That is my headcanon at least. Also I think the religion (I would say it is more of a cult and I look forward to learning more, I already know some because I played Licht's sequel...) is interesting and I have theories about what Azel wants to do with it and all the money he is gathering. But we will see where it goes xd I'm starting to doubt my "I don't really like tsunderes that much" preference since I love Yves and now Azel is there too xd Tho I would say it is because there is a clear reason to why they are the way that they are and try to keep distance for other reason than just "I just don't want to admit it. :P" We will see, once I have read further I might do some analyzing of his character design and how well it works with his story. Kinda like how I adored Clavis's design + how Chev and Gilbert mirror each other's designs :) OOH also! I love how Azel's voice actor has range with him XD all that "I'm a benevolent god" soft spoken voice to "STOP LOOKING AT ME WITH THOSE PUPPY EYES, STAHP, DAMMIT!" deeper, more demanding voice. hehehe

The Prophets were so fucking dumb to let Thel become the Arbiter.
When asked if he was in awe upon seeing Halo for the first time, his immediate reaction was confusion, then a response of “No???? Tf.”
He was incredibly defiant towards the brutes, and even the Prophets (to the Covenants standards). He wouldn’t let those fools touch him if he could help it, and even told the Prophets that he would continue his “campaign against the humans” without even knowing what they had planned to do to him.
They didn’t see it, but Thel was definitely open to listening to 343 and Sesa. Like- Thel was just about to do it-
He was a damn good leader. Even upon initial start, everyone held a high respect for Thel. And as the game went on, it was very obvious Thel was damn good at rallying people together. My man was the Obama of the Covenant.
He’s really fucking hard to kill. Master Chief and Thel are like carbon copies in that aspect. Keep in mind, the whole goal the Prophets had was to squeeze out what little use he had to them, and then kill him off. They chose the most unpredictable, the most stubborn, and the most brilliant Sangheili they could’ve possibly chosen.
In conclusion; the Prophets are dumb whores.
Instead of a loyal jarhead who happens to be pretty good in a fight, they chose a fucking genius of a warlord that had the rallying abilities of Barack Obama. Like- they set themselves up for failure.

fighting Seth felt kinda significant for me personally. When I was 15, I almost died from kidney failure. I am very fortunate to be here today, and I try to make the most of it. I was also a make-a-wish kid, just like Seth. And fighting his character felt so surreal. He may be gone, but we keep his memory alive through an amazing boss in an amazing game. Fun fact, I highly considered using my wish to meet team cherry, but i ended up choosing something else. anyway, i just beat him, and I felt kinda emotional, because even though he’s not here anymore, through this beautiful game, Seth gets to live on, just like I lived, and just like so many kids will in the future. And that’s wonderful
