Thoughts
Personally, I'm convinced the Shrouds shouldn't have been part of the Baymax event.
First, Book 6 already contains numerous references and thematic parallels to Big Hero 6 if you read it closely.
More importantly, I think what makes TWST events engaging is seeing characters put in a situation placed in environments that are unfamiliar to them, so those situations naturally create opportunities for unexpected reactions, character growth, and fun interactions with the setting. That's why Silver and Sebek — two "country boys" with little to none experience of advanced technology or modern urban life — work so well in a high-tech metropolis.
By contrast, a technology prodigy and an android would likely feel at home there from the beginning. While that could certainly provide a few entertaining moments, I think the novelty would wear off rather quickly...
It's much more interesting to watch a fish learning to fly through the sky than a fish swimming in water.
I think this principle explains why some TWST events resonate more strongly than others. Harveston event is a good example: placing Idia — a character who depends heavily on technology and the internet — in a rural village with no wi-fi immediately created a fun dynamic because he was genuinely put in a situation. In comparison, Port Fest didn't challenge its cast in quite the same way, so it wasn't that interesting, in my opinion.
Some people argue that Baymax is fundamentally a story about technologically gifted brothers, coping with loss, and becoming a hero, making the Shrouds an obvious choice and I understand that perspective.
However, I also feel those themes were already explored exceptionally well in Book 6. Since that arc has already reached a satisfying conclusion and opened a new chapter for Idia and Ortho's development, I'm not sure revisiting the same narrative motifs would have added much that felt genuinely new...
Naturally, everyone wants to see their favorite characters appear in more events. I feel the same way. But I also don't think every event needs to include every character simply because they fit the surface-level theme. For example, I'd love to see Diasomnia in a Briar Valley event, but that's a hometown event, not Lost in the Book. The context matters. (I would love to see Shrouds in Island of Woe hometown event!!)
Ultimately, I'd rather wait for an event that explores Idia and Ortho from a fresh perspective than see them included in a setting that primarily repeats ideas their main story. I'm confident they'll have future opportunities to showcase different aspects of their characters in narratives that are better suited to them.
