he's holding kings of every suit except hearts cuz symbolism (although, i wonder if that detail is so small it won't even show up on the blanket. maybe it'll be appreciated when we inevitably get these printed on cards đ¤).

some rough sketches for a blanket design! i'm between bapawmet being the focus with everyone behind them OR a tarot concept. the former looks better compositionally while the latter gives each character more equal focus and it's kind of fun trying to draw connections between them and the cards. lemme know if you have any thoughts (especially if you're familiar with tarot)!
and if you're interested, below the cut is my reasoning for associating certain characters with certain cards (sorry if i sound very new to tarot it's because i am đ):
Iâm going to try to ramble these notes off of memory, because even though I struggle to draw much nowadays I still want to share some thoughts on my old MemoryFalls AU
First: Iâd redesign Fiddleford.
Let him stay old, but his young version makes appearances whenever Stanford reminisces about the past only to accidentally transform Fiddleford into their young body. Immediate guilt hits him each time.
The reason for the young Fiddleford version was because I wanted to make a conversation about being stuck in the past. How the Fiddleford we know presently is different from back then, and how heâs constantly trying to resurface to show Stanford that.
Another thing I want to change is that Stanford himself is not âevilâ but definitely corrupted. His time spent on the other side of the portal is drastically different from canon, and he had spent 30 years in Billâs grasp within the Nightmare realm. He was manipulated and more, but Bill had to be careful not to fully break him.
When he returned back to his home dimension, everything felt upside down and wrong to him at first. It wasnât as weird or chaotic, and he wasnât used to the environment he was now in. At first he tried to contain the rift, but Billâs words kept poisoning him. How there was an âinevitable prophecyâ and how there wasnât anything left for him in this world.
Having Stan and the kids, he tried to convince himself to stay strong for them. Even taught Dipper the unicorn barrier spell in hopes to break away and leave the chaotic life behind. However he just couldnât. Ford wasnât able to get the metal plate in this AU, so the moment Bill Cipher could, he took over. Ford was able to make one more deal in order to make sure his family and those he cared about would be under his protection as his responsibility from then on.
Far later, when he sees Fiddleford involved with the âSave Stanfordâ operation⌠he was genuinely surprised. Only when he got confirmation that Fiddleford still saw him as an old friend did he decide to capture and take them under his protection.
Now he has an energetic old man with an unpredictable personality thatâs constantly trying to escape and cause chaos. But he also knows Bill was not as amused about them. So, Ford does his best to try to keep Fiddleford safe while dealing with Billâs bullshit.
Fiddlefordâs memories become important over time, being the only thing he has control over now, but others would have to be careful around him. After all, he had a very destructive kind of control that not only affected his memories but could damage others as well.
