Races of Exis
Exis only has three major races, but there are many variations within those three.
Humans are... humans. They can be found everywhere and are pretty straightforward. They’re adaptable and have an enthusiasm for learning. They’re also very humany.
Diarkind are the animal race of Exis. They can be any anthropomorphic animal with some exceptions (no dragons, unicorns, or fish, but there are some smaller species of dinosaur that can be Diarkind) and possess a variety of traits and abilities unique to their animal (such as heightened senses of hearing and smell for canids, better eyesight for certain birds, etc.). They are creative and out-of-the-box thinkers overall, and bring a unique perspective to certain problems that humans may not have figured out just yet. Also as a note, there are no hybrid Diarkind (such as foxes with wings and things), but I will discuss this in a later post.
Faeyr are the descendants from the fae that, overwhelmed by curiosity and love for mortals, decided to cross through the veil to become mortals themselves. They are humanoid, with any combination of tail, large, bird-like wings and horns on their heads. Their skin is usually tinted a brighter color than the wings themselves, the scleras of their eyes are often darker than their irises, and their teeth are usually sharp in some way. Despite their frightening appearance, they have a natural inclination towards being kind and agreeable and seek to understand others on a deeper level. They also have a natural talent for elemental magic and make for some of the most gifted wizards in the world.
I’ll probably talk more about these guys later in their own posts, but for now this seems like a good general overview.
