I’m a little in love with making art of people on horseback, and really adore the vibrant colors of the traditional harnesses for Indian Marwari horses (which all of the pictures I edit this from include). I think it’s the perfect color palette and style for Dornish cavalry, and I love their beautiful curved ears.

Obviously I have no clue what I want the typical military uniform to be, considering everybody’s is different. I figured Samira would be the most heavily armored because she is the heir after all, and if she were to die the revolt would be pretty pointless. (But no helmets in sight because of the Aesthetic™). And don’t ask why I figure she’d still use a scimitar, because it definitely wouldn’t be much good against heavily armored foe. And those diaphanous sleeves? I just wanted something with movement tbh.

Faiza was easier. As an archer, she’ll be the lightest armored. Her horse also is the only one to lack the bladed bands that it would use strike at nearby foe because she’s more focused on speed and ranged attacks than getting into the thick of things. 

Then Dia, Lucan, and Darius are somewhere in between. I imagine to the Dornish, wearing little metal armor and more leather armor is a sign of bravery. You don’t hide in a metal suit. You rely on skill and face your opponent for close and often brutal combat. That’s why even Samira is only wearing partial armor.
